The Greatest Love in Romance Town (hahah I'm so creative. hehe)

The reason why I gave Romance Town a chance was...
1.  Recommendation from mousie
2. This screencap omg

Does it make you want to fly to Japan like, immediately, for the hanami? (Oh, but I guess the season is long over...but still!!)

I'm still not very hooked onto it yet. I watched most of episode 1 disinterested, and then episode 2 somewhat interested. I wonder if episode 3 will work its magic and make me a loyal fan. We'll see.

Another drama that I'm currently in love with, from the Hong Sisters yet again! Cha Seung Won! I never knew he was this flexible an actor but...he rules my heart!! I can't wait to show Jen this!! Haha, I need to pry her away from her current crush. LOL.

Cute.

Sizzling.

I love all four lead/supporting actors/actresses. FINALLY a supporting actress that isn't too over the top as many other Hong supporting actresses were.

Helps that she played Ra Im's trusty friend in Secret Garden.

He looks good, but better without the glasses.

Adorable, but sadly jaded. Reminds me a little of Nino.

And finally, the man.

Who can range from...

Outrageously embarrassing...

to

Dramatically romantic...

In just 60 minutes. Ok, I cheated. The two screencaps came from two separate episodes. XD

I don't know why, but this kiss above is one of the most swoon-worthy kisses I've seen in 2011. And gosh, I've seen a lot of romcoms in 2011. And there isn't even any reciprocal feelings involved in this scene!!

It's really the perfect romcom of the season. The Hong Sisters seemed to have toned down a bit in that the characters are more believable (who can ever forget the overly naive 'nun' in You're Beautiful?) and hence more relateable. It's not just the writing, but also the acting, of course. Like Cha Seung Won's.

Not enough to lure you in? Here's another cute moment:

Oh, on a separate issue, it surprised me how much I've watched You're Beautiful. I was randomly surfing when I came across this icon and recognised the scene right away, with no hints at all:

I keep meaning to check out Greatest Love, but I keep putting it off for various reasons. Oh well, more to marathon later! :D

I'm the same with Romance Town. I enjoy it, but I'm not hooked; it's just something I watch when I'm unwinding at the end of a tiring week, and it takes me away/distracts me for a couple of hours. The same applies for Baby-faced Beauty, which is the other May drama that I've tried so far.

You haven't??????

GAHHHHHHHH, ok you can wait a while more before you start your marathon! It's not addictive like YAB, but it's so funny the Hong Sisters' way!

Haha I think I was the ONLY person who wasn't addicted to YAB! I blame that partly on the fact that I had read most of the recaps before I watched it, though - YAB doesn't have earthshaking surprises or anything so what little excitement there is to find out what comes next is absolutely destroyed when you read recaps. Worse decision I've ever made; I ended up struggling through YAB!

Yes, recaps are 'bad things'.

I'm forcing myself to stop watching AND reading recaps side by side, because sometimes I'll overscroll and end up seeing the next scene screencapped! (Like someone's naked torso. LOL).

Thing with YAB (and most comedies) are that...sometimes it's funny the first, or even second time you watch it, but then....it's not everlasting like deeper dramas are.

Yes, that's exactly it. You really can't read recaps of romcoms and expect to be able to get (full) enjoyment out of the drama when you go back and watch it afterwards, LOL. I mean, seeing caps and random comments on episodes (like Mousie's) might actually get you to watch the drama, but full recaps like DB's = baaaad idea.

For more complex dramas though, sometimes I like to watch it and then go find DB or Zealioner's recaps just to see whether they spotted/understood certain points better than I did, though. :P I'm doing that a lot for New Gisaeng Story, because there's so much symbolism and so on.
