They've done Hanadan - K version (which was good when you're still deeply addicted but a real waste of my time - I should have been revising for exams! - on retrospective perspective).

They've done Itazura Na Kiss - K version (which was bad any time).

They're doing Operation Proposal - K version (which, fortunately, is more my cup of tea than the Yamapi original).

And now.

Jin.

I shall not forgive if they dared butcher this show. I shall watch with a critical eye, if only because Jin remains one of my favourite non-idol Jdrama. It's got a good mix of melo, mystery, history, romance, inspiring moments, fabulous camera work, beautiful clothes and excellent cast. Would K version be as good? We'll see.

I've been thinking.

Last year China sparked off this time-travel craze. Japan has been doing it (from Tsuyoshi's 君といた未来のために 〜I'll be back〜 in 1999, to Yamapi's Operation Proposal and to the more recent Jin) all the while, and it doesn't seem like they're going to ride on the time travel bandwagon like it's something fresh.

And now, Korea is really jumping on. Operation Proposal. Jin. Is this becoming a trend?

I knew I should have stopped at episode 11.

Where all was good. Where In Young finally started going out with Sung Hyun for real.

Finally out of pining for the damaged relationship, and starting on a new one with someone who seems to love her and take her for who she is, past relationship and residual feelings for her ex.

But...I started on the show after reading reviews that the ending made some diehard fans turn 180 degrees and write off the show entirely. So, I got curious and decided to watch on.

Preparing myself, I thought up various scenerios.

In Young realises that she actually loves Sung Soo still and hence breaks up with Sung Hyun to get back with the former.
In Young gets dumped by Sung Hyun after he gets tired of her (like many antagonist chaebols hailing from kdramaverse).
In Young stays single after realising that 'love is not everything, and woman can still find happiness even without a male companion' (yeah the usual kind when a drama tries to become inspiration and veer away from romance cliches).

Ok, so...what could be worse? I'll be able to deal with whatever ending the show throws me!

Spoilers behind the cut. )

Great show. But my advice is, if you find yourself falling into the In Young-Sung Hyun camp, please just stop watching at Episode 11. Don't try to be adventurous and let the reality drama break your heart.

On a side-note, Choi Jin Hyuk, the actor playing Bae Sung Hyun, is hot. Like, real hot. He kisses like no one else does (ok, maybe that's coz we don't get to see much kissing in kdramas. LOL...but even in INR, he does it much better than Kim Jung Hoon). I need more of him! But he doesn't seem to appear in much shows! Oh, what do I do with this newfound crush??? This cute, hot guy who kijnd of resembles Lee Min Ho...

Have some non-NC-16 photos (the entire drama felt like soft porn tastefully inserted into a romance drama):

The awkward start of a romance...

This was the moment my heart started thumping wildly too. It was like, "YES! In Young is fonally feeling it, they are finally going to date for real!".

This is nothing compared to the kiss in the car....which I don't have a cap on. Wait. What cap? I NEED A GIF! SOMEONE!!! ANYONE!!!!

Such a desperate moment for him!! T.T

I had felt that Sung Hyun's screentime indicates that he might be  first lead equivalent, and held some hopes...but..alas, he is still the second lead. Of a kdrama. *pats on the back*

These are my type of abs. I dislike abs which are too defined and too....over.

And on a side-side-note, I find myself being drawn more to cabletv offerings lately. The last few dramas I've watched are: Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, I Need Romance, Colors of Woman, Padam Padam...and I'm intending to track down Vampire Prosecuter when I get the time. The last non-cable drama I've watched was Scent of a Woman...which ended in early September! Cabletv FIGHTING! Bring us more unconventional dramas please!

Final 2 episodes to go!

And boy, I don't have the slightest idea how it will end. Five scenerios:

1. Dok Go Jin survives and fulfils his promise to give Gu Ae Jeong the future he planned out - to propose and marry her.

2. Dok Go Jin survives but like what Rep Moon said, the removal of a time limit changed his perspective of which is more important: love or career? And he decides to hide the relationship (I am sure he will not end it).

3. Dok Go Jin falls into a state of coma. Gu Ae Jeong gets shown by Rep Moon what Jin had prepared for her and also discovers the ring which Dok Go Jin entrusted to her nephew. Touched, she decides to stay by his side and try to wake him. In doing so, she outs herself as his girlfriend.

4. Dok Go Jin dies and Rep Moon decides to show the press evidence that Jin loved Gu Ae Jeong. However, after she informs Gu Ae Jeong of her intention, the latter persuades her not to do so - to protect the reputation Dok Go Jin prided himself upon and to protect the nature of their relationship (that she didn't date him to use him). So, Gu Ae Jeong continues to struggle in showbiz all the while being the same strong person Jin liked her for.

5. Dok Go Jin dies and Rep Moon manages to send those evidence to the press.

Thing is, the writers have done such a good job in laying the foundations for different endings, so no one can actually make a prediction. No matter which is chosen (or even better, one that is outside of the five scenerios above), it won't feel disjoint from the front.

I will surely cry myself to sleep if Dok Go Jin dies. That scene in episode 14 where he cried on the hospital bed upon realised that he won't get to see Gu Ae Jeong before the surgery (potentially their final meeting) was so heartwrenching. He had only cried twice in this drama. The first time was when he thought that Gu Ae Jeong had decided to start with the doctor and will leave him. The second time was this, when he thought that he will be leaving Gu Ae Jeong. Oh, my heart. Heart Break.

Now I can't wait.

This is such a sad episode, because we watched Jun Ha transform. From a poor boy who's been manipulated since young for no fault beyond being born the son of an enemy, who's so insecure, who loves his non-blood related brother to death, he became the devil. Who wants to hate and be hated by that brother, just because they're the son of each other's enemy.

I secretly hope that this is all Jun Ha's plot to win the enemy's trust and gain control of Woo Kyung before returning it to Dong Joo. I hope. I really hope, because it hurts to see him fall into that abssy of hatred.

The best scene in this episode was the final one, with the showdown between Jun Ha and Dong Joo. I swear I'll not forgive Jun Ha if he ever let it out, maliciously, that Dong Joo is in fact deaf. And before he does that, I'll hang on to the hope that he's just acting. Because if he does, he'll be ruining Dong Joo directly and irreversibly (in terms of his pride and self-confidence).

This scene is so well-written!

Falling out of the brothers )

I still won't say that Kim Jae Won/Dong Joo is an outstanding actor (not when Nam Goong Min/Jun Ha is going so very strong and convincing in his role), but he got me in that final scene. It's so heartwrenching to see the pair turn against each other!!

On a side note, I'm getting sick of the Dong Joo x Woo Ri relationship. At first, I was sucked in by the pureness, the bright nature of their relationship. But when the story has developed into such a melodramatic situation, their cute scenes scattered here and there during the episode seemed to fit poorly into the overarching plot. And I cannot stand Woo Ri going "Dong Joo, Dong Joo". Her voice is getting annoying. Especially when all she's concerned about is Dong Joo. She didn't ask after Jun Ha when he contacts her after being released from police custody. All she did was go on and on about how Dong Joo was worried about him, and how he's causing Dong Joo and her pain. It's hard to believe that she really loved her Ma Ru oppa. Oh well, maybe we can pin it down to her love for Dong Joo, but I'm so distressed about Jun Ha, I cannot stand seeing her inflict more pain on him!!

Jun Ha! Please prove that even though you're 'born to someone who isn't human', you're still human. Don't disappoint me!

The reason why I gave Romance Town a chance was...
1.  Recommendation from mousie
2. This screencap omg

Does it make you want to fly to Japan like, immediately, for the hanami? (Oh, but I guess the season is long over...but still!!)

I'm still not very hooked onto it yet. I watched most of episode 1 disinterested, and then episode 2 somewhat interested. I wonder if episode 3 will work its magic and make me a loyal fan. We'll see.

The Hong Sisters do rule the romcom genre. )

I'm really a tv person! )

Shin Ji Hyun needed 3 tears to complete her 49 days trip and come back alive.

Now, with viewers from all over the world tearing so much for her fate during the final episode, can the writers bring her back to life too?

Sad as it is, I liked how the writers ended this 20 episode drama. Maybe because I found the drama more on character growth and development instead of pure romance, I'm not as heartbroken as I would have been if it happened it other dramas to see no happy ending for any of the couples.

I think it was a risk the writers took to end things this way, but HOORAY for a non-traditional ending! Everything felt nicely wrapped up and made logical sense. One of the best I've watched in 2011.

I'm going to watch out for these 4 in other shows:
Bae Soo Bin (Min Ho)
Jung Il Woo (Yi Soo)
Jo Hyun Jae (Han Kang)
Lee Yo Won (Yi Kyung)

Great acting. Especially the first two. <3 hahaha...Who knew that the gentle Park Joon Sae from Shining Inheritance could turn all dark in 49 Days?
karened: (Default)
Forgive me for typing using the character names instead of the actor/actress's name.

The two times I cried over 49 Days pertained to the secondary leads. Is there a secondary lead even in this strange drama? Is the supporting actor a single person? Min-ho? Yi-soo? The supporting actress In-jung? Ji-Hyun? Or even Yi-Kyung?

Haha in any case, I was talking about Yi-soo and Yi-kyung. I cried so hard when we got a peep into their romance in their teenage years, when they crossed paths with Ji-Hyun and Kang. Because we knew how the lovely pair would end up, seeing their sweet days was painful.

And now, this.

Gosh, it's been a long time since I've gotten so involved in a secondary pair's love line! Pain, pain, pain!

And what is it about Ji-Hyun dying again??? Ahhhh I can't wait for tomorrow!

Maou

May. 7th, 2011 11:37 pm
karened: (Default)

I'm going to watch Mawang. In case you don't know, that's the kdrama version of Maou. I just came across a writeup about how great Mawang is, but that's not what baited me to watch. It was a short paragraph that refuted every single view I had regarding Maou that provoked me.

My favourite Arashi song for 2008 - "when you take away the elegant soundtrack and replace it with (*gag*) Arashi numbers"

Ohno's convincing, outstanding portrayal of the character, and his death stare - "when you take away the awesome mature actors and replace them with a couple of Johnny’s boys"

Good directing, especially the opening part with Ohno reaching for Toma - "when you lose the superb directing and editing"

My favourite suspense drama in ages - "what was one of the best and most absorbing tv shows I’d ever watched was reduced to an affair of mind-numbing mediocrity"

So, I will watch for myself how magnificent Mawang is such that my beloved Maou pales so much in comparison to warrant being called "incredibly, stupendously, outstandingly boring". Perhaps it's because s/he has watched Mawang before watching Maou that made Maou such a predictable ride. Perhaps.

Perhaps at the end of the 20 episodes, I'll follow suit and comment that "It was so boring I never made it past the first few episodes, even with fast-forwarding".

Or perhaps I'll love to death, so much so that I'd want to delete this post.

But Maou will forever be Ohno's first drama, the one that made it feel like his training in butais all these while had done him good, that it was worthwhile to have to wait so so so long till her appears on tv. For that, it is special.

49 Days

Apr. 30th, 2011 01:10 am
karened: (Default)

I can't say that 49 Days is my favourite kdrama for this season, since I've read good reviews for Do You Hear My Heart? of which I've only managed to catch 2 episodes (that showed promise).

But I do enjoy 49 Days, much more than I had expected myself to.

The cast (not just the leads but the supporting too) are convincing.
The characters (the leads and a few of the supporting) have depth, making them interesting. Even the villain tugs my heartstrings at times.
The plot is well-layered, exposing just a bit more every episode, like puzzle pieces slowly falling into place, just that this puzzle is 3D, with many layers. There are new findings, new rules, new relationship deevlopment every episode, reducing the usual drama drag towards the middle. And of course, it makes sense.

Sense.

Like the villain's (Min Ho) reason in ep 14 for his scheme.

It's not that his target family wronged him or anything. It's just bad luck, the same bad luck that caused him to be born into that poor and desperate family. Since God has gave him such bad luck, he'll just pass it down to some other people. Just like how he can't blame anyone for his family background, they can't blame him for trying to change his situation in life - at their expense.

If I were Han Kang (omg, I love his name), I would tell him that he's not God, so he doesn't have the right to do that.

But I'm just a viewer, so what I can do is to rationalise Min Ho's reasoning. Flawed as it sounds, if put into Min Ho's perspective, I an actually understand it. For someone like Min Ho, who grew up in fear and starvation, I wouldn't be surprised if his thinking is warped by his hatred of his fate. In fact, that sounds more reasonable than the usual kdrama melodramatic web of feuds and revenge!

I'm excited.

Hyun Bin's version of That Man, one of the theme songs for Secret Garden, which aired its final episode just an hour ago.

There's a female version called That Woman, a a male version sung by a female singer, so I was pleasantly surprised that they released the man version sang by Hyun Bin. It would have been great if the lyrics to the male version didn't just change the words 'woman' to 'man', but instead reflected the love from the man's POV. Oh well.

Hyun Bin is one of the few Korean actors I have a long running love for, and it helps that he's been putting out works that throws his charm back before my eyes. Others are like Park Yong Ha (who I feel shares similar features as Hyun Bin) and....................Er, ok. Not much. Jang Geun Suk is another love, but the passion is still at the budding stage. =P

Other than his good looks, his ability to handle both serious and comical roles, Hyun Bin can actually sing. Not out-of-the-world, but still listenable for an OST. I will miss him for the two years he leaves for army service (starting Mar)!!!

Please watch this mesh-up of scenes from the drama, the so-called official MV for Hyun Bin's version.

Please do not repost the lyrics and translations without permission.

그 남자 by 현빈
That Man by Hyun Bin

한 남자가 그대를 사랑합니다
그 남자는 열심히 사랑합니다
매일 그림자처럼 그대를 따라다니며
그 남자는 웃으며 울고 있어요
There's a man who loves you
That man loves with all his might
Following you around like a shadow every day
With a smile, that man is crying

얼마나 얼마나 더 너를
이렇게 바라만 보며 혼자
이 바람 같은 사랑 이 거지 같은 사랑
계속해야 니가 나를 사랑 하겠니
How much more, just how much more
Must I look at you like this, alone
And continue this meaningless love, this miserable love
For you to love me?

조금만 가까이 와 조금만
한 발 다가가면 두 발 도망가는
널 사랑하는 난 지금도 옆에 있어
그 남잔 웁니다
Come close just a little, just a little
You, who will back off two steps if I took a step closer
Loving you (like that), I'm still by your side even now
That man is crying

그 남자는 성격이 소심합니다
그래서 웃는 법을 배웠답니다
친한 친구에게도 못 하는 얘기가 많은
그 남자의 마음은 상처 투성이
That man is timid by nature
That's why he learnt how to smile
There're many things he can't even tell his close friends
That man's heart is covered with wounds

그래서 그 남자는 그댈
널 사랑 했데요 똑같아서
또 하나 같은 바보 또 하나 같은 바보
한 번 나를 안아주고 가면 안 되요
That's why that man said
He loved you, because you were the same
Another fool, another fool
Can't you hug me once before you go

난 사랑 받고 싶어 그대여
매일 속으로만 가슴 속으로만
소리를 지르며
그 남자는 오늘도 그 옆에 있데요
That man wants to be loved
Calling out everyday
In his heart, deep in his heart
That man is by your side today too

그 남자가 나라는 걸 아나요
알면서도 이러는 건 아니죠
모를꺼야 그댄 바보니까
Do you know that man is me
Can't be that you're doing this even though you know, right
You don't know, because you're a fool

얼마나 얼마나 더 너를
이렇게 바라만 보며 혼자
이 바보 같은 사랑 이 거지 같은 사랑
계속해야 니가 나를 사랑 하겠니
How much more, just how much more
Must I look at you like this, alone
And continue this meaningless love, this miserable love
For you to love me?

조금만 가까이 와 조금만
한 발 다가가면 두 발 도망가는
널 사랑하는 난 지금도 옆에 있어
그 남잔 웁니다
Come close just a little, just a little
You, who will back off two steps if I took a step closer
Loving you (like that), I'm still by your side even now
That man is crying

And to end off, watch this.
Summary: Gil Ra-Im (the female lead), a stuntwoman, got into an accident during filming. She slipped into unconciousness. A grieving Kim Jiwon (the male lead, Hyun Bin), searched up the nearest location that was having a storm approaching. Why? Because they had previously gotten into a magic mess whereby their souls swop whenever they get into a storm. Yes. So, having found out the location, he proceeded with his final goodbyes: to his mom, his cousin, and finally a letter to his Ra-Im.

GAHH why can't I find something better than this video? The whole ep was sooo moving that I found my heart breaking together with Jiwon's.

Short post before I drop dead on bed.

Seriously, MGIAG is probably one of my favourite (light) dramas in recent years (because Slingshot will remain as my favourite heavy plot drama).

The flow is even, so there's none of the usual kdrama drag in later episodes. The chemistry builds up over time. The acting of the leads, especially the male lead (and I'm not being biased, really) is convincing and reaches into your heart. The plot is interesting due to the mystical element that makes things unpredictable, even the ending. Under a few overlapping main arches such as "will one of them die at the end of 100 days" and "will she survive in the end", the story generates new questions after answers are given, and that makes each episode worth looking forward to. It is a good mix of light-hearted scenes and heavy angsty ones, so while you squeal your heart out at cutesy scenes (mainly rabu rabu scenes between the leads), you feel your feet firmly planted on earth by the life-and-death storyline.

And even the final episode was paced well, with no drag. From 1/3 into the episode, I was crying, all the way to the last 5 minutes. This is spite of me knowing (darn the spoilers) the happy ending. Because the leads do not know that there'll be a happy ending, they behave in ways that break your heart. And I cried for the second lead, not because he didn't get the girl (it was never about him loving the girl anyway), but because he was so filled with regrets of a mistake he did a thousand years ago.

You can read the recap of the final ep here at dramabeans. If you have not watched this wonderful drama, go give it a try. Unlike You're Beautiful (which I love), this is one which is going to be on my list of "dramas to rewatch soon".

Night.

I decided to watch the Dear Snow perf before sleeping...My first time hearing this song!

Ok, now really time for bed.

You know how crazy I was for You're Beautiful. I'm currently watching another drama written by the Hong Sisters, who were behind that manaic kdrama. It's named "내 여자친구는 구미호" (My Girlfriend is a 9-tailed fox). And I have to say that although I don't feel the crazy fangirl emotions I felt for YB, I thoroughly enjoyed the drama. If the next 3 episodes are at least as good as the previous 13 were, I'll definitely put it above YB. Because, while it was not as silly fun as YB, it did not drag and feel too angsty like YB did it its later episodes. I feel that the Hong Sisters had improved in their writing, and the angst is always resolved in a light manner that remains true to the spirit of the drama. And without giving an awkward, contrived feeling. It's rare, I tell you.

Here's a scene from ep 11 that's going into my list of memorable quotes.

The best confession scene ever )
karened: (Default)

I was randomly blog surfing and found this post on one of the most popular kdrama review sites, Dramabeans.

There’s an article in the Korea Times (in English) that points out some issues in Korean drama production and what could be improved by looking at the Japanese drama production model. I won’t reprint the whole article here, but the gist is:

Korean dramas have higher actor fees, which leads to inflated budgets and smaller profit margins (or losses); twice-weekly broadcasts keep ratings and buzz high but adds to frantic pace of production. On the other hand, Japanese dramas hand out lower salaries; once-weekly episodes have shorter running times, which gives production more time to ensure higher quality.

Below are some interesting comments to this post. Bear in mind that most readers of that website are kdrama fans:

A very long rant )

karened: (Default)

With 5 new kdramas premiering this week, I really didn't know which to watch. Not to mention that I had a bunch of 2009 dramas that I need to catch up with. So I decided to watch all the first (and maybe second) eps. I've just finished 공부의 신//God of Study. It's the k-remake of the jdorama Dragon Zakura.

Yeah, another k-remake. One after another, and seems like more to come. Mawang aka Maou (adapted from the novel, not remade), Boys Over Flower, The Man Who Can't Get Married, God Of Study, Itazura Na Kiss (upcoming?), Zettai Kareshi (upcoming?)...

Ever since BOF, I've been really unsure about k-remakes. They tend to add details to the original, usually because they are allocated at least 50% more drama time than the jdorama. Sometimes such details fill up gaps (in the sense that they add plot developments in areas the audience desires, eg more romance, not in the sense that they make up for loopholes in the original, which are very rare) but sometimes, they vandalise the simplicity of the original with unwelcomed plot twists.

Comparison under the cut )

Translation of song under the cut )
karened: (Default)

It was just...15 lines in 3 paragraphs, but it took me 2 whole days to read it. After reading the first 2 lines, I scrambled back into the shell of ignorance and pretended not to have received it. In between episodes of Slingshot (Which was great, and I'll get to it in a while), I kept convincing myself that "Even if I don't read it, he would have assumed that I've read since he has sent it out". But everytime, just as I start to pick up the card, logic will give up to fears. I managed to steal peeks at words. Words like "friends" and "hope" kind of hinted to me the gist of it all. Well, to be honest, the opening line already gve it all away. But today, the final deadline for sending a reply in time (he's out of country now, but will return soon), I finally mustered up the courage to read it in whole.

What could be worse than being rejected? (although that isn't too bad actually since I've already decided to end the 8 years of on-off feelings.)

That would be finding out that he already has a girlfriend since a few months back, the very same few months which held the best memories. How foolish it was to read too much into those moments.

But what came later was the final stroke. He said that he had screwed it all up after I confessed. As if misinterpreting things wasn't embarrassing enough, I have to find out that those incidents were most probably planned to send me a message of an entirely different kind.

Yet, I had the decency to think, "Gosh, he is still so cute."

I'm thankful that he wrote to me to clear it up and that he was very serious in that letter. He took it seriously, instead of trying to avoid and brush it off. That's someone worthy of being my one and only longlasting crush since Sec 2. That's someone worthy of being my one and only male best friend for a long time to come.

I wrote him a reply in a less serious tone, and even poked fun at him for concealing his girlfriend from our group of old friends. I planted a few small lies here and there. Why do people lie? Some lie to protect their image, some to get something they really want, some to protect something or someone precious. I lied because I really treasure the friendship we all share and the ease I feel when with him. Hopefully this impulsive act of mine doesn't changes things between us, or I'll really grow depressed. My friends used to say that I can act very well, refering to me acting to fish out information whenever we plan for birthday surprises. There's one final act I have to put up. That's when he's ready to introduce us to the girl. I think my heart will still ache, I'll still feel awkward, but for the sake of all of us, I'll have to pretend everything's fine. I hope that by then, I wouldn't have to pretend though.

So, another 'first' in 2009 would be: First Rejection.

あんたのことが好きだった。それだけで十分だ。今から忘れていく。

Now, enough with the melancholic reflections! On to raving about Slingshot.

Slingshot, the last work from my dearest )

Screencapped these pictures from the Will It Snow For Christmas SBS site. I had expected the website to play a drama theme in the background because there are many instrumentals that suit the Christmasy theme. But surprisingly, the website had no background music. I even turned my speakers' volume to maximum to check! Btw, I was translating ep 5 when this new insert song played. The voice sounded really familiar, and when I searched for the lyrics to do a translation, I realised the beautiful voice belongs to Heo Young Saeng from SS501!! XD

You should visit the website just to see how beautiful it is done up. The background of the main page changes (as per above) and done two of them, there's this snowing effect. I love the last background where the main characters all look up like that andCGI snow rains down on them. The still picture is nice too but with the CGI it's even better. And then, when you hover the mouse over a link, snow will fall from the mouse too. The logo is also interesting. Not only is the font quite artistic, the Christmas tree on the top right is made up of stars and even more stars continue to rain on it.

I think I really should stop watching tv. Below is the list of dramas I'm watching right now:

Because I'm a drama queen! )

Episode 14

Nov. 21st, 2009 02:28 am
karened: (Default)

I read a lot of comments that Tae Kyung's sudden outburst at the end of ep 14 was too sudden and seemed too contrived, like the screenwriters wrote it in to give the plot some tension.

Actually, as I thought abit more...this situation kind of resembled the one in episode 2 where Mi Nam went to his room to apologise for puking into his mouth.

He yelled at her to leave the room, and we later realised that it was because he didn't want to be provoked by her presence into scolding her. He needed to calm down (and wash his mouth n times) first before facing Mi Nam.

Here, it's similar ne. Other than having to reorganise his thoughts (WOW! Suddenly, this girl who seems to know nothing knows everything! His mother's identity, the background of the song he was remaking, the relationship between his mother and her father....oh yeah, on top of that she's HIS daugther) alone, he didn't want to hurt her accidentally when his mind is in a frenzy.

I think that's why he asked her not to be where he can see her. He doesn't want to see her (for now, not forever).

I hope episode 15 proves my theory right!

The brightest star in episode 14...

Who do you think was the brightest star in episode 14?

For me, it was him...

who shone in spite of the sorrowful darkness that filled those few minutes,
who took over from Shin Woo to be this episode's star,
who beat even Tae Kyung's sweet (though unoriginal) kiss.

Let's recap those heartwrenching moments...
