I can't put it to words, but I love this image from Kis-My-Ft2's debut single Everybody Go, the RE edition.

I love the crisscross effect of their omghowcantheirlegsbesoslimunlikemine! feet. But what got to me is Fujigaya (did I get his name right? did I did I?!) putting up peace sign behind his back. I just find it sosososo cute.

And I'm now watching Ep8, with dear JGS cameoing for a whole 5 mins!!! He Is So Cute. And I love how his cameo was written in to move the plot, as compared to Shingo's rather meaningless (but still exciting!) cameo 2 eps back. How great it is that JGS took time out to appear on the drama, an act I believe to be out of goodwill.

On a not so positive side note, watching Ikemen Desu Ne made me realise that much as I thought my years of watching J variety (although limited to Arashi and JE related ones) had made me get used to the Japanese type of humour, I was wrong. One or two minutes of Tanoshingo on tv was ok for me. but watching him appear every now and then on the drama doing his trademark underarms thing and speaking in the act-cute-voice-Japanese-girls-seem-to-like-and-which-I-have-since-gotten-over-hearing-the-girls-speaking-like-that is horrible. Please, someone stop that man. =/

Sometimes life's like that.

I had to have some free time in office.
The office net had to be able to load allkpop (and block others like lj?).
I had to surf allkpop for fun.
Allkpop had to post that piece of news, not on Friday, Saturday (or later when it'll be too rushed for me to do anything), but today.
I had to read that piece of news and realise that if JGS's leaving for Japan on 11 (Allkpop didn't state the month but it doesn't take a genius to figure it out) NOVEMBER, there might be a chance the concert's when I'm in Japan.
The concert tour had to pass through Yokohama on 27th, the last day I'm in Japan.
Yokohama had to be so near Tokyo, so near that I had went there before for my Park Yong Ha concert.
Park Yong Ha's concert had to be the one experience that made me realise "there might not be a next).

And so, now I'm trying to get tickets. It was a sell-out, and the tickets online are expensive. But not to someone who had survived Arashi's concert ticket sale pages.

Anyone who will be in Tokyo on 27th and am interested in going?

After being introduced to SxS by tsuriken, I fell under the charm of THE Kimura Takuya again. When that happens, there's just one thing I had to do.

Rewatch Long Vacation. The one show that introduced me to the man back when I was still oblivious even to who Britney Spears was (Back then my music world revolved around Ah Niu and Leon Lai). But this time, instead of pulling out my vcd set, I pull out some links, clicked some buttons, and voila *poof*! The magician who stealthily stole the hearts of so many a woman/girl appeared on screen; a much younger, fresher version of the KimuTaku now, but not at all missing the charm. I mean, it's a different type of charm. The boyish, cute, silly boy grew into a sauve, adorkable, silly man.

I realise I digressed, as usual.

Main point of this post, and finally tying back to the "je: nino" tag...

While searching for Long Vacation related webpages, I stumbled upon a website that provides the location shoot venues for the drama. I don't usually check those out, because I won't go on location hunts anyway, but I did this time and was pleasantly surprised that the page just got updated earlier in the year. I mean, the drama ended its run so like...over a decade ago (but the rerun was just last year)!

Feeling hopeful that the website might be an active archive, I clicked on the most searched list and found Freeter in 1st position!!

Just FYI.

Lucky me! Today is my last day in Seoul, and the part 2s of both the novel and the comic book got released just yesterday so I was able to get them at the original price! There a part 3 to the comic book to be released in Jan 2009.

Below are some photos I took of the BTS pictures attached at the back of the Novel part 2.

  So many charming moments! )

We went to do more sightseeing yesterday, with a new tour guide. She's much better I feel, in terms of smiling, friendliness, English, knowledge of good places to go and initiative. Aniwaes, we went to Lotte World, which I absolutely loved but didn't get to ride anything except for the pharoah 3D virtual show. =( It's a place to go with friends, not family. Not a family who's afraid of the smallest things. Aniwaes, I also saw the hot air balloon ride featured in Creating Destiny. XP I think it's really destiny coz on the previous tour, I walked past this shop in Insadong that was used as Yeo Jun siter's pastry shop in the show.

After Lotte World, we went to this precius stone workshop where gm bought some jewelry. Then it was to 63 Building to view the nightscape!

Pretty ne? Looks like Christmas lightings.

Not when you look properly what it's made of. Or when you're in the middle of it.

We went to the Wax Museum next!

I'd be happier if it was Yong Ha's role instead of Yon-sama's. I didn't even watch Winter Sonata lah! But, just for fun!

I'm not sure if you guys have heard it, but there's a studio recorded version of 어떡하죠 (What Should I Do) by Jang Geun Suk. It's a lot clearer than the one ripped from episode 16.

I recently (ok a few wks ago) participated in a YB Project, and the results of that project is out here!

Basically, in response to JGS's msg on SBS's msg board (he reflected if it was because he didn't do a good job that the ratings weren't high, because he felt the rest of the cast was superb), international fans of YB got together and compiled messages to send to the YB team. What started out as a simple email idea somehow got included into a visit by Korean DC Gallery members to the set. In that blog are an account of the visit, photos of the cast with the project and much others. Go have a look!!

It's really, worldwide. Like I haven't been surprised by Arashi enough...but this is just a drama. It's not a band or grou or anything. Yet, the following is..amazing.

Once again, the power of the Internet. ORZ. I fall at your feet.

Here are the videos containing those messages.

And this is JGS acknowledging the project.

I've participated in numerous such events, to arashi, SS501, Raymond...but this is the first time I actually feel that "I was part of something that made a difference!" 장근석, 100야! Fan-service.

Oh and I it's funny how JGS actually wrote in DC Gallery some spoilers for upcoming episodes, but because he had no proof (eg a photo of himself), no one believed what he said and even told him to go play elsewhere. LOL..I've seen plenty of such messages around, and usually don't bother to click, because they're either crap or if real, things I don't want to get spoilt about.

[edit] More videos of the visit on DC (This is mainly on JGS, for the rest, click the links below the video).

Updated with mp3! Enjoy his voice!

[audio clip omitted due to shift from vox]

Lol I didn't realise at first but now that I see it. I should have put "Good Bye, by Jang Geun Suk". Now it looks like I'm saying bye to him. =.=

Boy, I sure love JGS's voice!!!! But not when he's shouting, like what he's been doing in the last part of ep 11 till that of ep 12. Seriously, can I ever get a kdrama without someokne shouting and yelling? Look at hk dramas! Tsk.

My favourite favourite Jun was in it yet I didn't watch the said dorama. Because the female lead didn't look beautiful enough to attract me (but then again, given my experience with still print media, I should have learnt something about their faithfulness to the actual person) and the plot was just too far-fetched.

Now, Korea is making a remake of it. With one of my favourite Korean actor, no less! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH I won't watch it. No way no way. It'll be like betrayal if I watched that and not Jun's.

I should have known!!! YAPPARI!

Our Taekyung isn't that weak!!! Though he does care for Minam, it's not a deep love yet, and it's not like him to give in.

OMG I so love the screenwriters. Many were complaining about the kiss (see cap below) last ep, and though I saw it as Taekyung's sacrifice for Minam, I was sorely pained too.

But just 1 min into ep 7 and redemption descended!!!

HAHA! This is going into my big list of 'You're Beautiful turn-around cliches'.

It's faked!! An angle problem!! And I guess this once again depicted just about how much we should get heated up or excited over what appears in tabloids, even those backed by photos. And the funny thing is, everyone's mind kind of affected by typical drama plots such that no one really stopped to think "Hey but we didn't see their lips touch!". We just filled in the gaps with what we expected things to be. The human brain works in amazing ways. Either that or we're just too poisoned by drama plots.

Ok, I'm gonna go continue the ep before sleeping! Oh gosh, I've gotta wake up in 6 hours time!! =S

At matsuzy's suggestion, I bought the Hong Gil Dong dvd. I didn't really pay any interest in it when it aired on cabletv because I don't particularly like Korean period dramas (Dae Jang Geum anyone?). Besides, at that time, I didn't know JGS was in it - insert the prior reason for not paying attention to the commercials. When I got to know that, I still didn't have the motivation to watch for he wasn't the lead.
But aniwaes, I decided to give it a try and found it reasonably worthed the watch. Although the ending (in terms of coupling) was predictable, I still enjoyed the process. Ignoring the ridiculous modern elements woven into the period drama, the way too much Gil Dong - Yi Nok scenes that I sometimes just skipped through, it could be said to be engaging. At certain points where it starts to feel slightly draggy, the plot would develop in another direction to keep me interested.
Aniwaes, this is a spam post for me to fangirl over my JGS who acted as the prince Chang Hwe.
Many disliked the ending, but I quite liked it...there wasn't clear evidence pointing to the death of Gil Dong and Yi Nok, so perhaps they had managed to survive and left for China. Or maybe Chang Hwe had given secret orders to save them and send them away after the aristocrats are satisfied with the staged confrontation. There is evidence that Chang Hwe didn't turn all bad though. The young boy and Gil Dong's master's conversation pointed to the fact that social classes didn't stop anyone from doing things, at least for education, which we know is the gate to many possibilities. The point about not being able to attend school due to poverty is something to be dealt with of course, but back in those days, ridding barriers from social classes is a big deal already. I was so worried my poor Chang Hwe would turn bad after struggling so long to do the right thing within the constraints forced by his position. PHEW! I don't agree with Gil Dong though. He's too idealistic. Like what Chang Hwe said, there has to be a compromise, a step by step plan to achieve their ideal world. Gil Dong wanted a change to big, too fast...I don't see what's the point of dying for your dream. Will that help to move towards the dream? Wouldn't it be better if he had stayed to guide the new king towards that dream? Isn't that more practical? I guess the screenwriters just wanted a dramatic ending, though I have to say that that final battle scene was amazing, from picture composition to the dialogue, to the music.
Here's the pic spam of my pretty boy! He's like Lee Jun Ki, but he doesn't evoke the 'omg girl!' feeling in me...pretty as he is, he still shows masculinity. Lee Jun Ki's features are really sharp, and really pretty...Some people said his acting was lacking, and he only showed a blank face without any inner emotions for most of the drama. Well, I have no issue with that....in fact I felt that he carried his character well with this sad/depressed aura throughout. *shrugs* But I'm no expert. I found HJL's Jihoo good too. X)

Have you seen such a pretty face? (yes of course hehe, but...)

From dramabeans

SBS’s idol drama You’re Beautiful may only be second in its timeslot (after IRIS on KBS), but its soundtrack is a big hit. Now only a week after its release, it has already sold about 20,000 albums; the day it came out, it was a top seller on all the various online sites (Melon, Dosirak, Mnet).

To give you a sense of what that number means, it is unusual for OST albums to sell more than 10,000 units. The drama’s ratings are modest at best, but the strong sales of the soundtrack point to its status as a solid mania hit. The album was written and produced by Han Sung-ho, who also worked on the dramas Lovers, On Air, and Brilliant Legacy.

With the actors all showing musical talent (two are from idol bands and the other two also sing in the series), some are even wondering whether the idol-group-within-the-drama will pursue activities for real; according to a source with the production’s marketing team, “The viewers want A.N.JELL to perform for real and the members are in accord, so they are currently discussing it. At the moment, their schedules are packed tight so it’s difficult to make a decision. When the drama nears its close, they’ll be able to solidify plans for possible activities.”

Well, I'm still waiting for Jan to come. Wanna buy the OST when I reach Korea...but I've downloaded the album already and it is really addictive, although there're only that few songs (many of them had various versions by different people). The thing is, they CAN sing. JGS is pretty decent for a non-full time singer, and I totally loved his version of 들리나요 in beethoven virus. Hong Gi and Yong Hwa are singers and you know most korean singers, even idol ones, can sing. Surprisingly, Park Shin Hye has a good voice too!!

I totally wouldn't mind, in fact, I hope, that they release another OST/album under the ANJELL name...but I guess it's highly unlikely for an actual group to come out from this because they all have their own commitments outside ANJELL, like FTIsland, which I'm sure is very busy, other other dramas etc...Even if they had some outside-the-drama activities, it'll most probably be short-term.

Aniwaes, I'm surprised that the OST was produced by the same guy who did On Air's, coz I loved On Air's OST to bits too!

Just to illustrate why I like this drama so much, other than the pretty boys and girl,

What do you think preceded this scene?

I tried coming out with a few, like these:
He was sick, she looked after him and her feelings got the better of her.
She tripped and fell onto him and decided to enjoy the moment before he wakes up.
They were drugged (LOL, extreme imagination) and some tabloid put them in this position for photos.
They got drunk and just landed up like that
Somehow, from the last ep to this one, their feelings developed urber fast and they decided to get together.

What else?

Can't think of any?

Here's the answer

What is this you ask?

Well due to some reason, Mi-Nam (the girl acting as a guy) is sharing a room with Tae-Kyung (the leader of the group). Worried for her safety, her manager gave her the electric taser in case Tae-Kyung attempted to do something to her. I did suspect that Tae-Kyung might be the poor accidental victim, but no, I was wrong.

Mi-Nam touched it accidentally, and got knocked out, hence the above scene.

See how amazing the script is? I love how the screenwriters take typical cliches and give it such a twist, or sometimes a pun. Makes the plot more interesting and filled with surprises! Like, of all the ways to get the two leads into each others' arms!!! This!

I'm currently addicted to this Korean drama called You're Beautiful (미남이시네요). It stars many people I don't know, except for this guy from the cute movie Baby and I. But apparently Hong Gi from FTIsland is in there too. It's like a mix of Hanakimi and Hanadan. Plus it's super funny without being too chessy and typical. Tons of good looking guys, to meet all needs. There's a gentle one (think Rui), there's a brash one (think Domyouji minus 1 level prior to meeting Tsukushi), there's a cute one (think Nakatsu) and a pretty one (think of most pretty idols).

Basically, the story is this. The female lead has a twin brother living apart from her. One day, someone came along and told her her brother got through an audition to join this very popular Korean boyband called A.N.JELL. However, due to some freak reason, he had a surgery and needs to recover from it. So, the man, his manager, asked her to help by signing the contract on his behalf. And following that, he asked her to pretend to be him for the month till he recovers.

So, we have a female in an all boys group. But the story's not that much about how the female lead copes with hiding her true gender and all the funny things that happens. At ep 2, the two males in the 3-person group already know about that. The remaining one thinks that the gentle member, who treats her very well, is gay and likes her, and that the brash member, whom she keep pestering, is a victim of her 'gayness;. And his imaginations are like the best. Super funny. The female lead, surprisingly, looks very much male in many scenes....she can definitely pass off as a male in the pretty flower boy idol world of ours.

And, the subs come out super fast! Like, in just one days' time!

Aniwaes, I love the OST...they have a very good mix of songs from all over the world that surprisingly fit different scenes quite well. I like these two, performed by the band in the drama. Try listening! And I translated the lyrics too!
