Today was a really lucky day! I dropped by the Johnny's shop today, entirely unplanned due to 2 reasons:
1) The Tokyo shop was almost wiped out of Arashi photos even the newly released (less than a month) ones. It was quite pathetic, with less than 50 photos adorning 6 walls. So I decided to drop by the Osaka shop to see if there are any other photos.
2) I caught the cold and decided to sleep in yesterday, the day I had originally intended to visit the shop.

So, I went today, and managed to get the new photos just released today! Lucky!

Now for the concert highlights...

Today's seat was nearer to the front, by about 7 rows, and nearer to the front centre stage (on the other side of the diagonal hanamichi), but still on the side where Ohno's raised stage was, so a lot of Ohno moments!! Plus I bought a binoculars so I could see him much clearer. I kinda decided on my Ichi-ban by buying the bino - blue. But I was also looking alot at Jun and Nino (when Ohno is on the other side hehehe)

Today's highlight:

- Ohno being busy responsing to uchiwa requests, doing so many actions one after another! The gun "bang" hand sign, peace sign, double peace sign, freestyle pose, fishing gesture...it must be really tiring to pick out those requests one by one (from the moving cart!) and respond. Again, touched by his effort.

- Ohno tried to pick up the heart-shaped confetti as it fell around him! So cute.

- Today's MC was longer than yesterday's. Aiba introduced his newly released movie (Miracle) and said that he was going to the cinemas tomorrow for stage greetings. When he found out that a lot of the fans have already caught the movie (it opened last week), he blurted out "wow, that's a miracle! " before he caught himself and laughed it off.

The other members said that they have yet to see it (Nino: since Aiba hasn't given them the premiere tickets). Sho explained that they can't go to the cinemas because the people who are there know Aiba (and hence the rest of Arashi by extension). Awww Sho's so confident about Aiba's popularity :) but Aiba is as usual so humble, and brushed it off saying that there are also viewers who are just there for the story.

Nino then continued by introducing his upcoming movie, which has yet to settle on the exact release date next year. He explained the plot, which was too complicated, so he made it easier by puting names to the plot. For example, one day, Ohno got murdered. Every member has an alibi which cannot be proven, such as watching tv at home...and then at this point, Ohno, who for some reason went backstage with Jun in the middle of the MC, suddenly reappeared behind Nino. Lol, what perfect timing!

Ohno had been playing cellphone games too much, and when Jun pressed his wrist to prove that, Ohno was screaming about how painful it was!

- Sho's heartbeat rate is higher today, but still the lowest amongst the 5. Jun continued to lead the group, and even hit 180+! I wonder if everything is ok with him? I felt that today was more exciting too, perhaps because the people around me were more enthusiastic, so I went crazier with my shouting and hand gestures as well!

- Now that I'm nearer to the action, have a better view from the front, and armed with binoculars, I could see the dance moves better. I so love the asterisk dance with the slow-mo portions fitting in very well with the tempo of the song.

- Love wonderland's dance was really cute too! Gaaaah can they get any cuter!?

During the final MC, without being prompted, most people changed their fanlights to the member's colour during their turn. It felt magical, like each of the light was supporting and protecting the members with the soft glow.

Sho mentioned that he felt amazing, like he's being loved, and that it's strange of him to make that comment. The next thing we know, we were all shouting "愛してるよ!".

Ohno made an offhand remark that he was grateful to be able to hold concerts at Osaka so many times, but he has not came to Osaka privately before. That got him an "ehhhh" from everyone, including Sho. Lol! From there, he lost track of what he had intended to say and that situation got everyone, himself included, laughing!

As usual, Nino's MC was the funniest, punctuated with his witty remarks, such as how he doesn't want to continue doing concerts forever!! Because it's so tiring to do it forever (literally, non-stop); doing it for 3 hours is already miraculous for him! They have been doing it for 15 years...20 years, 30 years, 40 years later, they will continue the concerts. But by then, he would be over 70! Can he still stand?

Well, Nino I bet you can still charm us with your sharp tongue and play slow country songs on the guitar. Sitting down of course.

The tour this time round is quite different. For example, the members didn't wear the concert tee. There was no giant mascot board at the entrance for fans to take photos with. There weren't any tour flags flown outside the dome. Each venue ran for four days. And in spite of that, the entire tour ends within the year!!! I wonder what all these point to, or am I thinking too much?

じゃまた来年よろしく! See you again next year, my darlings!

It has been a long while since I last posted, but in the end the only place where I can gush freely about my fandom is here!

Today, it's all about The Digitalian Osaka leg, 27 Nov 204.

There is always one (or more) moment during concerts when I feel really emotional, such as the"my first and probably last concert" moment during encore of 5x10. This time, it was also during the last song of The Digitalian. On the screen was a photo montage of Arashi's photos throughout the ages. And then suddenly, photos of fans at the concert hall appeared. Each photo was linked to several others, forming an intricate web of relationships. Each web then formed 1 member. That really brought tears to my eyes. Through Arashi, I've got to know a lot of amazing people and friends. They made learning more fun and gave purpose to long hours revising. Thanks to this, I've managed to make Japanese friends outside of the fandom as well. When I'm tired or unmotivated, their songs give me energy and their tv shows bring me laughter. I'm so glad that I stumbled onto this group and for all the experiences since then!

Highlights of tonight's concert:
- The stage layout is quite unique. The main stage is a V shape with a huge vertical screen on each side of the V, making it easy to watch both the real people and the zoom-in footage at the same time. The moving stage is also a V shape with the pointed end replaced with a flat portion. I think this is great for stand seats which are slightly off center, and allows the members to go closer to fans. Even the hanamachi is shaped in a cross, with the branches go off diagonally. Meaning, the branch ended right in front of me!!

- Aiba's solo! Omg he must have felt ridiculous, but kuddos for giving it his all. The dance was so....silly! Like a kid trying to be sexy but failing in all ways (well, the sexy moves were well executed but the rest of it was just plain silly). Still, because Aiba's the one dancing this, it didn't feel unnatural at all. In fact, I liked his solo the most. Highest entertainment value. Even Nino had to poke fun of it during his closing MC!

- Speaking of which, Nino's solo with his guitar was such an interesting blend of cool and cute. He totally went against the cuteness in the lyrics as he worked his fingers up and down the guitar strings. My second favourite solo!

- There was a small incident which made me appreciate Ohno a whole lot. The members were waving their hands to a song, and then Ohno suddenly threw a quick peace sign before he returned to waving. I bet he must have seen a "peace sign please" uchiwa.

- During certain segments, the screen would show the heartbeat rate of each member. Jun's was always the highest. And the lowest? No, not Ohno. Sakurai Sho!! When everyone's heartbeat rate was over 100, his would stay at 90+. Maybe it was as he said, it's not that he's not excited. It might be that he's already dead! Lol...

- The encore was such a surprise because the members rode out on helium filled balloons which had their old albums/singles printed all over. And then they launched into a medley of their old songs, one from each year. The later ones such as GUTS and Calling were sung in full. However, this time round they didn't appear in the concert Tee, which was the usual practice. I had thought that they would give one more encore, but nah, that was it.

- Ohno's surprise birthday song! I wasn't expecting it because there was one year where they didn't celebrate at the concert because the birthday was a few days prior. However, they did it this time round! During the MC, Jun asked that we can change the colour of the light on our fanlight according to what our neighbours are doing. It's like a 'make Arashi happy' thing, to see everyone become one and the hall turn into a single colour. What he said was really odd, actually. He then continued to suggest, for example, if the song is the OST of a partcular member's drama, we can change the fanlight to his colour. And then he continued, "Alright, shall we do it? The next song is..."

Suddenly, the happy birthday song started to play! So everyone changed to blue (mine was already blue hehe). Sho later said that when Ohno realised what was happening, he made a face to Sho, who was beside him, and said, "お前ら…" He was all "It's tiring" lol...he just doesn't want to bother with handling the spotlight, as usual! While pushing the cake to the front, Sho went too fast and caused the flames to extinguish, but Ohno just gamely pretended to blow the candles. He got some cream on his scarf, and became probably the most moe person to ever say that cream is delicious, right after licking it off his scarf!

Of the 3 concerts I've attended celebrating his birthday, the celebration today is the shortest (I can never forget the one where Jun held up a flipchart to silently communicate with fans how to participate in the surprise). However, the happiness is not any less.

- I have experienced this 'synchonised penlight' concept before at Mayday's concert. However, I think Arashi brought it up a notch. The lights changed frequency at different rates, sometimes slow to match the beats of a song and sometimes fast to create the image of glittering diamonds. Also, there were a lot of colours which fans cannot change to by ourselves, such as white and orange. We can only change it to one of the 5 official colours. All these made the concert hall really beautiful and often create effects which caught us by surprise. The only complaint would be that the light is with the uchiwa, so I had to remember not to raise the uchiwa when doing the furitsuke in case I block the people behind.

All in all, また"嵐に出会えってよかったなー"って感じ!

嵐、嵐 for dream....誰のdream? 私達、嵐とファンのdream )

And cue 感謝カンゲキ雨嵐. Such a perfect timing, to sing this just as the rain starts...it's like the skies are helping them create the right atmosphere.

I remember. Do you?

The feelings when it was announced that they have won the right to perform at Kokuritsu. It's not just the scale. It's also the meaning to it.

Of course, the ability to attract enough concert-goers to fill up the ~50,000 seats. If I don't remember wrongly, the 'behaviour' of fans are also important, so that they will not create any disruption in the areas round Kokuritsu.

Back then, the only artistes who had held concerts at that 'sacred' venue were SMAP (2005, 2006) and DREAMS COME TRUE (2007). In 2008 was the year. And every year since then. The venue limits only 1 concert each year, and our Arashi has made it every year since 2008, which, like Ohno and Jun and Sho said, is totally unbelievable (to them who had went through slumps) and a prestige to be thankful for. This year is especially special as the stadium would be demolished for the construction of a new one. Perhaps this is why both Arashi and L'Arc~en~Ciel were granted permission to hold concerts in Kokuritsu this year. I remember almost having a breakdown when L'Arc~en~Ciel's concert was announced, because it would mean that Arashi wasn't going to have one.

For a moment, my world was shaken. Kokuritsu has became a norm. But now, thinking back, the sense of pride and happiness felt in 2008 came rushing back.

While I'm still terribly frustrated that JE isn't doing anything to pish Arashi out to the International, or even the regional market, I'm satisfied that the boys made it there, and stayed there. It would be crushing for them if they went down from their peak in 2008, to have that one moment in limelight at Kokuritsu and then disappear again. I'm sure that if JE put in some effort, Arashi can be bigger than XXXX from some other country, but one shall not be greedy, especially when the boys from C no Arashi has made it so far, out from the basement at the TV station to the open-air Kokuritsu where they can fly anywhere they want.

I promised Mandy I would find out the guy's name, so I went and tried...for half an hour before figuring it out.

STEP 1
Browse through the Jan 2011 Duet, Wink Up and Potato to try find the Jr group he is in.
Failed.

STEP 2
Google for Arashi backdancers.
Failed.

STEP 3
Search Yahoo Japan for Japanese accounts of Arashi backdancers.
Failed.

STEP 4
Recalled seeing the guy on one of the Christmas greetings video in the Johnnys Family Club, and that people actually ripped Arashi's message from the J-web (a different version, but filmed on same day), so searched for the J-web and tried to find that guy's video.
Succeed.

To watch the group, go here. Click on the "Johnny's Christmas Message 2010" banner on the right sidebar. Click on the gourd-like ornament on the bottom right of the Christmas tree (hover over to see if it read "They武道").

Yeah, from that group. What's with the name....And they're not featured at all in the YE mags. Meaning, they aren't an established group?

So, basically, it's this guy:

What's with him huh?

Well, there was this part during the 21 Nov concert I went to where the members were all quite far away attending to the stands fans. And just nice, two backdancers were dancing on the hanamichi in front of me. The two in that picture. So, since I couldn't see the boys clearly, I just looked at that right hand side guy dance. And then. He blew a kiss at me.

O.O

The odd thing is, due to the high tension and excitement, I actually felt my heart stop when he did that!

=.=''''

If only it was Nino or something!!

WTH I spent 30 mins typing this post and when I clicked post, it returned an error saying I didn't have any content. DAMN. PISSED.

Anyway, here I try to retype with less vigour.

Met up with M and J as mentioned in the previous post, and with regards to the conversation on OhmiyaSK in Kokuritsu, here are the photos I was mentioned.

I'm dying.

Of happiness.

It was 4.40pm.

At Harajuku.

Only 4 tickets left.

One was at the 2nd level stands.
Another pair was also 2nd level stands.
Last was an Arena.
Block C6.
I have no idea where that block is, and I know that Arena doesn't guarantee a good seat.

But I went for it. Like...30% cheaper than my Friday stands seat. The storekeeper said I was lucky coz that ticket really became much cheaper now.

And then, I rushed to Dome, reaching at 530pm. Found the gate (which was really far from the main gate 22). I saw that Gate 11 was right at the side of Dome so I thought that it was a seat very far left. But no.

When I entered the Arena and saw the board with the blocks' location printed, I nearly died. The block was only 3 blocks away from the hanamichi joining the main and center stage. I went to the seat, and then REALLY died. My seat was only 3 rows away from the left hanamichi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like, so lucky!!!

How lucky can I get!? Ohno's birthday surprise! )

Concert audio clip, only for friends. Please refer to this post for the password.
Since it's Ohno's birthday soon (and 'my birthday' today), I'm opening up the post to public for 24 hours. But please, please, please DO NOT SHARE/REUPLOAD. It's not exactly legal doing recordings, and I still want to enjoy my future concerts happily. Onegai ne!
MediaFire
Not very high quality and not full because my recorder died halfway =( It's only up to Aiba's part in the second stage greeting.

Sometimes life's like that.

I had to have some free time in office.
The office net had to be able to load allkpop (and block others like lj?).
I had to surf allkpop for fun.
Allkpop had to post that piece of news, not on Friday, Saturday (or later when it'll be too rushed for me to do anything), but today.
I had to read that piece of news and realise that if JGS's leaving for Japan on 11 (Allkpop didn't state the month but it doesn't take a genius to figure it out) NOVEMBER, there might be a chance the concert's when I'm in Japan.
The concert tour had to pass through Yokohama on 27th, the last day I'm in Japan.
Yokohama had to be so near Tokyo, so near that I had went there before for my Park Yong Ha concert.
Park Yong Ha's concert had to be the one experience that made me realise "there might not be a next).

And so, now I'm trying to get tickets. It was a sell-out, and the tickets online are expensive. But not to someone who had survived Arashi's concert ticket sale pages.

Anyone who will be in Tokyo on 27th and am interested in going?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After being introduced to SxS by tsuriken, I fell under the charm of THE Kimura Takuya again. When that happens, there's just one thing I had to do.

Rewatch Long Vacation. The one show that introduced me to the man back when I was still oblivious even to who Britney Spears was (Back then my music world revolved around Ah Niu and Leon Lai). But this time, instead of pulling out my vcd set, I pull out some links, clicked some buttons, and voila *poof*! The magician who stealthily stole the hearts of so many a woman/girl appeared on screen; a much younger, fresher version of the KimuTaku now, but not at all missing the charm. I mean, it's a different type of charm. The boyish, cute, silly boy grew into a sauve, adorkable, silly man.

I realise I digressed, as usual.

Main point of this post, and finally tying back to the "je: nino" tag...

While searching for Long Vacation related webpages, I stumbled upon a website that provides the location shoot venues for the drama. I don't usually check those out, because I won't go on location hunts anyway, but I did this time and was pleasantly surprised that the page just got updated earlier in the year. I mean, the drama ended its run so like...over a decade ago (but the rerun was just last year)!

Feeling hopeful that the website might be an active archive, I clicked on the most searched list and found Freeter in 1st position!!

Just FYI.

I really feel like making an uchiwa that reads this:

翔さん、
裁定取引って知る?

Sho-san,
Do you know the term Arbitrage?

Plenty of examples here if you don't know this economics term.

But of course, it'll be too long to fit into the uchiwa ne!

On a separate topic, rumours may be rumours, but they still sting!

I really cannot stand seeing my boys' hard work being leveraged on like this. Not once. Not twice. But thrice (at least that's all I've read of)!

First time I read something like that was regarding Kohaku 2009, whereby some people said that Arashi was the exchange condition for NYC in the show. And then, Jen mentioned before (can't find the post) about rumours that a primetime slot aka Arashi ni Shiyagare was the exchange condition for Ohno in Kaibutsu-kun. Third time this.

After May's birthday, Jun's birthday is here (<------------ a lame joke only close friends will get. Otherwise, ignore.)!!!! As promise this post includes all individual interviews from the 10-11 concert pamphlet! So go and read whatever you missed in the past week! I know I promised to finish the group interview and the individual Q&A by Jun's big day, but I was busy celebrating my own birthday so I didn't manage to go beyond 2 pages of the group interview. I hope to finish all by the end of the coming week! When I  finish each part (the group interview and Q&A), I'll post them to my vox, neighbour-locked. But after I've finished everything, I'll update this post with everything. And this will be open till the nexttour comes on and no one bothers about the old one anymore. lol.

Basically, that means my neighbours get to read first. Because I want to make up for all the non-Arashi stuff they've been subjected to the past year. =P But don't add me to vox too quick ne. I prefer my neighbourhood close and cozy. =) Just be patient!

[EDIT] 11/9/2010: After adding the Group part, the post became too long to be posted, so I've created a separate post here for the Group and Q&A parts. Read the individual interview parts here.

GROUP

This is the customary tour pamphlet round-table talk. Firstly, please let us ask about your current feelings about approaching this time's "ARASHI 10-11 TOUR "Scene" ~ The scenery you and I are looking at ~", the 11th year's tour and also the first original album tour in 2 years.

S: Excuse me but, it may be off the point to start from this question... But is it ok to first talk about our thoughts?
N: Is it off the point...(Laughs)? Well, go ahead, go ahead!
S: Somehow, in actual fact, we've been having concerts up till this January (in 2010), and I've got the feeling that we've been having concerts until recently so... There's this feeling of "It's really fast". Conversely, when it becomes August, the period where the tour starts, there'll be this feeling that it's been a year. It's just that, as you would expect, we'll have discussions and start on rehearsals quite early before the tour. When we did that, I felt that "Although we've being doing it till recently, the next has already begun huh".
O: We've been on tour up till this January. But... I don't feel so.
A: That's right, I also feel that it seems really long ago.
M: Like, we've specially created an original album ("The scenery we are looking at") this time, so there's a feeling of "starting to create from 1". Because this period of time was densely packed... Doesn't the previous tour feel like something from long ago?
N: What could it be? Perhaps there's also the influence from the DVD? Recently, I watched the 10th anniversary DVD ("ARASHI Anniversary Tour 5x10" with the end August 2009 Kokuritsu Stadium's concert as main footage) by chance. Although for the tour itself, we held it till this January, that DVD had a strong image of summer. That's why it feels like it's been a year.
A: Although it was this January that the tour ended, it was long ago (last summer) that it started!

The tour this year will also span over half a year right?

S: That's right. That's why, really... Will Aiba-san be ok (Laughs)?
A: Although I had talked about it in my solo comment... That's right. (Because the interval between each concert is empty) It'll be difficult to recall.
M: Eh, you're aware of that fact (Laughs)?
S: What's amazing about this person is... Although he's perfect in other areas, he forgets only his solo.
N: During the previous Nagoya concert, he totally couldn't do it... After Aiba-kun's solo was "HORIZON" and during the rehearsal, I watched Aiba-kun from the entry position for "HORIZON". He was worse at the dance than the Jr. that appeared together with him...
A: I thought that since I've been doing it all the while, the solo, in particular, would be ok! That's why we did a new choreography and I worked on it most. So I was not any bit worried. When it (the rehearsal recording) was broadcasted, I totally couldn't dance...
M: In a way, it was a shock right...
O: It's difficult... That is difficult (Whispering to Aiba).
A: It IS...difficult huh?
S: And when the solo opened, you sang "Kyou no fusenmei wo semero" (from "HORIZON") right?
A: It fitted perfectly...
(All burst into laughter)
N: He couldn't dance to the extent that I thought it was some newbie dancing right in the center. Really... (Aiba's solo at) That Nagoya concert was amusing.
S: It was so huh? It was fresh to us even (Laughs).
O: We'll probably do each and every round with fresh feelings this year too. I'm looking forward to it.

Now, regarding the title of this year's tour. Please tell us about the sequence of events leading up till the decision of the title.

M: It first originated from the album. This time, to create the album, we had the most intensive meetings to date. There were many instances where we, having discussed things like "What should we do about the album's concept and title?" and "How should we go about doing the songs?", advanced while holding to a common understanding. And at the same time, the tour title was decided on. As expected, it became a situation that "if the tour title and the album title don't link entirely, it'll be wrong". Well... We also said that "The Scenery We Are Looking At" 1 doesn't work as a tour title (Laughs). It was a bit puzzling right?
S: It was like "Don't look at it by yourself!"
M: That's how it was (Laughs). So, it became "The Scenery You And I Are Looking At"2. But even after doing that, if the title was just like that, it'll be weird when the MCs announce the tour title whenever the concert starts...(Laughs). It's not just that but, well, we thought it'll be better if there was a " ?? Tour" title that makes it easy to understand. So we added a "Scene" before "The Scenery You And I Are Looking At".

By the way, what do you read this "10-11" as?

N: It's about "What do you think it's read as".
S: It's a tour where you search for that.
(All burst into laughter.)
M: That's why if you were to say it in a word3, it's "Scene Tour". Going by the previous "Time Tour" and "10th Anniversary Tour", it's "Scene Tour". It's the meaning of going from the 10th anniversary towards the 11th anniversary...
N: Meaning from 2010 towards 2011 right?
M: Taking into consideration that it's a tour the straddles over 2 years, this time's title was used.
S: It has a double meaning!

I see... That's how it is huh? Then, this is also regarding the new album "The scenery we're looking at". It's about to be finished (This talk was at the end of June) so what kind of album is it slated to become?

N: Hmm~, danceable to!
M: Well, "Magical Song" (Aiba's solo) is first on the list right!
A: Hahaha (Laughs).
S: That's REALLY good.
M: What is that sung as? After "It's a magical song~", you say "Kyeah~!"?
A: It's "Yeah~!"!!
N: You say "Yeah~!"? (With a striking expression) It's not "Hyeah~!"... (<----- Seems like he hears him singing that no matter what).
M: When I listened to it yesterday, I became bothered about what you were saying over there.
N: I was also bothered by it. (Even louder) "Hyeahhhhhh~!" I heard.
(All burst into laughter).
S: Haha! It wasn't to that extent.
A: The 'H' wasn't that strong!
N: The "H" was heard...right?
M: It could be heard. "Hye~ah!".
A: It's "Yeah!"!
N: Eh,...  Was "Yeah!" heard?
O: Nope... It came out as a falsetto? Right?
A: Yup... Oh well...
M: (Concluding) It's that danceable!
A: Because we're that fired up!!
(All burst into laughter.)
N: It (the song) reaches the peak about 8 seconds after starting. 1, 2, 3... (Counting) 7, 8. (With a striking expression) "Heeeee~!".
A: I said it's "Yeah", not "Hee"!

(Laughs) So, with Aiba's solo taking the lead, it has became quite a danceable album.

N: It's danceable. Everyone's in high praise for it. As expected from an Aiba clan solo.
S: It's good, I quite like it.
O: I like it too.
M: I hope that a pose will be attached to that "Hyeah~!".

Please give your impressions of the album, one member at a time.

S: Can we start with my image? It feels like "droplets", with various flavours and colours.
N: It's like "We're delivering 60 minutes rich in variety!".
S: That's what it is!! Because the member solos are not recorded in the concluding 2nd disc from a 2 disc album this time. They are inserted within the 20 songs from 1 disc (in the album). So, while listening through the entire thing, it feels like piecing many small parts together. With "Magical Power" in the lead...
A: It's "Magical Song" ok!
S: Ah, I got the title wrong (Laughs).
N: Is that so... I thought it was "Magical Music". (And then with a striking expression) "Hyeah~!".
A: I said, it's "Yeah~!"!

It's too amusing, so please stop doing that already... (Laughs). For the listeners too, they have to check it out themselves too right.

A: Yup, because I did sing "Yeah!" properly!
O: But it was cool this time. I thought, "What a "cool" album."
S: Yeah! And the song that Ohno-san thinks is cool?
N: Where does the reason lie for the "cool" image that Leader has of it?
S: Yup, where did you pick to be thought as cool?
O: It can be danced to, right? Like, all the songs can be danced to. And the fact that they can be danced to means that, it's... a cool danceable genre......... Yeah...fufu.
N: What are you laughing at!
S: Haha! (Looking at Nino's expression) Are you in a bad mood today (Laughs)?
N: Continue with the comment!
O: Er...well... Yeah...fufu.

Since the image is that of cool dances... Are there any dances that Ohno-san choreographed this time as well? I think the fans are also anticipating that.

S: (Watching Ohno) If you please!
N: If you pleaaaase!
O: ......Heh, hahaha.
A: Hahaha?
M: "Since you've finished your drama without any issues, how about choreographing some instead of just going fishing?"... It seems like he's often told that (Laughs).
N: How about doing it? Ah... Then, I'm just saying this as an example, if you were to do it, which song would it be?
S: It won't come true.
M: Like "If it's this song, I'll try to choreograph it".
N: "Mada Ue O"?
S: "Circus"?
M: "Movin' on"!
O: Y~up... "Don't stop" and "Movin' on" I guess.
4 of them: Oh~!
N: Then do "Movin' on"! Ok!!
O: Ah! You know, I'll do it too, but something like a collaboration with me...how about that?
M: With who...?
N: Conversely, who do you want to collaborate with?
O: I want to choreograph it with Aiba-chan. (To Aiba) Because it'll be easy. (Because we'll think of the choreography by ourselves) we don't have to memorise it after that right?
A: Hahaha! Really? Is it ok for me to think of it?
O: Yup. By doing that, we don't have to memorise it.
A: Got it. Then if  Riida says he'll choreograph, I'll be by his side always!
S: By his side... Why does it sound like an assistant?
(Everyone bursts into laughter)
A: I'll do anything. I'll take care of Riida spiritually!
N: That's totally not a collaboration...
A: Nah, I'll think about it properly. Really, but... Are you doing it this time?
O: fufu...
S: Well, of course, the preparatory meetings will start from now so... It's about right now, at this moment.
N: But, I don't want it...somewhat. To be taught by Aiba-san.
A: I can teach very well! Speaking to you from the top.
M: Like "Wrong!"?
A: Like "What's this~, you have poor memory huh."
N: I definitely don't want that~!
(Everyone bursts into laughter)

Please talk about the contents of the current ongoing meetings and future prospects!

M: How's it coming along... For both the album and the tour, I think the theme this time is "cannot be seen". The thing is, without any exaggeration, we had thought of creating both the album and the tour by gathering "The persons we are right now". While we were creating them with that in mind, there were situations where the overall image of both couldn't be seen... I really thought that it was something that "cannot be seen". Because right now, while I'm living my life, I don't know how tomorrow will turn out. I also don't know how today will be right? That's why surprisingly, I myself don't know "The Scenery I'm Looking At".
S: Certainly, we don't know!
M: That's why, we'll have everying confirm this "thing that cannot be seen". I feel that in the end, the theme could be "What can be seen when everyone gathers?".

It's like "what exactly is "The Scenery We Are Looking At"?" right?

M: Yup. "The Scenery You And I Are Looking At" I guess. If "You" are not present, we won't be able to see it!
S: Ah~ Well said!
(The 4 of them unanimously go "Well said~", "Beautiful!" And then... Lastly, everyone exchanged the previous "call" of "Hyeah~~~~!")
S: That's in vogue huh.
N: I...will probably keep saying that at the backstage during the tour.

By the way, where on the setlist does it seem that everyone's most loved Aiba's solo will be placed?

M: Er... At the encore.
(Everyone bursts into laughter)
S: That was brought up yesterday.
A: They said, "This song...will be the encore huh."
S: While they (the fans) think that we're not doing Aiba's solo... It appears during the encore! Futhermore, he'll appear by himself.
N: (With a striking expression) Hyeaa~h!
S: The guests will also go "He appeared!!!!!!!!!!" (Laughs).
A: That'll be really great huh?
S: It'll be too novel.
N: And then, the idea of having him do it twice also appeared.
O: Hahahahaha!
A: Once more huh?
S: He appeared again!!!!!!!!!!!! Hee!
(Everyone bursts into laughter)

This time, there’re also situations where Matsumoto-kun (being in the midst of filming for the drama serial “Summer’s Love Shines In Rainbow Colours”) couldn’t join in preparatory meetings and rehearsals.

S: That’s why…  To become aware of it after losing it, it means that it’s a important thing right (Laughs)?
M: Nah nah, it’s the other way round right (Laughs)? I think new things, fresh things will appear.
N: Well, but still… Eh? Sho-chan, what about your movie “Kamisama no Karute”?
S: Filming starts from September.
N: I see.
A: That’s right… I confront it (losing a member at discussions) with all my might!
(All bursts into laughter)
S: Well, because the discussions have just started.
N: But, isn’t it amazing that we’re holding concerts every year, that we’re able to hold them? Somehow… I feel so. To be able to think “This is the concert period”, I'm grateful for this lifestyle. It’s also amazing that we can hold them in the same period every year… Of course, it’s the same for the fact that we’re allowed to hold them at the Kokuritsu stadium consecutively for three years.
M: Although the 10th anniversary tour lasted till this January, replacing it when it ended were discussions of “Let’s make something new from 1!" Somehow, I’m looking forward to it very much. This time, I’m looking forward to it very much.

For the fans, they first look forward to the album, and then to go to the concert, it's like “I have to listen to it repeatedly and practise in advance!”… I think it’s been a long time since they last had such feelings.

S: That’s true. Because the number of song suddenly increased all at once. I was in a state of “I have to memorise the 15 songs that I’m hearing for the first time!”
O: I see… It’s also a nostalgic feeling for our fans? That “I have to memorise the songs!”
S:The feeling of memorising songs and going for the concert huh?
O: Yup, yup.
N: It’s tough huh… Even for those of our fans.
S:There are various things that are tough for each person.
M: That's right. It's not just us who has to get through it.
S: Yup. I've always thought about this but, as we hold the concerts, the album songs they come alive and leave impressions... During the tour, the impressions held when we first listened to the album will probably change. That songs nourishes oneself... I think that kind of thing exists. That's why... I'll work hard at singing in order to nourish good children!

What are you looking forward to for the tour?

S: There are a lot of things I’m looking forward to.
M: Yup. Firstly, we’re going (on tour) after a whole year. Going (on tour) after a whole year means… Not all the people who came for us the last time would be able to come, and people who couldn’t come the last time may come this time. This means that there may be people who are “How long has it been since the last time?” and also people who are “Hi, first time meeting you.”
S: Because it's the only "place of contact". Like, “Even such a young child is supporting us!”, “Even grandfathers and grandmother… The whole family came for us!”. Indeed, there’re new touching incidents every time.

I see. I wonder if there'll be many people showing support with their whole family for Ohno-san's "Kaibutsu-kun" in particular.

S: There’s a possibility that they will complete an entire Kaibutsu-kun team and come. If there are five in the family…huh? The father as Franken, the mother as the Werewolf…
N: Haha. That’s right!
O: There’s  a possibility… I guess.
S: It might just happen huh? And then, there may also be people wearing the GANTZ suit.

That’s right! Furthermore, if it’s the part of the tour taking place after “Ohku” has started screening...

M: That’s right! There may be people wearing the Chonmage hairstyle4.
A: That will be amazing (Laughs).
S: Yeah. But for me… No matter what kind of imitation they do, it’ll just be a suit (Tokujou Kabachi) right?
A: Nah… there might be that thing? Double-parka?
S: Ah, that… Will I be able to discover that?
A: It’s difficult to get it huh. (That they’re imitating the) Double-parka (Laughs).
N: Nah, I think there’ll be. I think there’ll definitely be some.
A: Going “I’m wearing (double)!” (making appeals).
O: Definitely… The uchiwa. I think there’ll be uchiwas that say that.
N: Uchiwas that write “Double-parka”?
S: That’s true huh… It's barely speaking ill of me so I guess I'll wave my hand.
N: Eh, is that ok!?
S: There were things like “Sports idiot” written too… But that’s no good because it’s speaking ill of me (Laughs)!
N: But… If it is “Double-parka"?
S: Just barely OK.
A: But it's just barely. Then, it's better for the guests not to overdo it that much (Laughs).
N: Hahahaha! It’s better to write “Sho-kun” in the normal way (Laughs).
(All bursts into laughter)
S: Well, last year's tour was also long, and various things happened. Not just within the space of the concerts.
M: That's right. Even the seasons, they changed from summer to autumn and winter.
N: Right, it was long.

Ohno-san, what’s your goal this time?

O: Because it’s a long tour, I hope we don’t suffer any injuries.
A & N: Wah…
M: It appeared…!
S: Killer comment!
M: The customary comment appeared.
O: Because… (To be able to do this without suffering any injuries is) Indeed a miracle!
A: That’s right. Oh! Is Riida approaching 30 years old?
S: Oh~ That’s true.
M: He’ll approach 30 in the middle of the tour right.
N: Wah…!
S: I see…It’ll be good if the title of the tour isn’t “10-11” but “10-11-30”…
(Everyone bursts into laughter)
N: (Pointing to the personal printed T-shirt Ohno is wearing) But that…isn’t a T-shirt a 30 years old would wear…
S: Erm… A gang of three bittergourd man? (<------- a printed design with that kind of image)
O: (Looking at his own chest)…fufufufu. I hope they won’t imitate this...
S: Like “To all the good children around, please don’t become this kind of adult ok?”?
(Everyone bursts into laughter)
N: Nah... The 30 years old I imagine of is a firm adult.
M: Well then, as a commemoration, shall we do something (at the concert)?
A: Hey. Let's do it!
S: That's right, the before and after (of the age thirty).
M: Ah! How about doing the "Ashita no kioku" like we did previously by himself?5
(Everyone bursts into laughter)
S: (Unable to stop his laughter) Hahahahahahaha!
N: It's commemorative, commemorative.
S: "Satoshi no kioku"?6 Hahahaha!
N: That's great, do that!
M: This time round, Riida will not sing his album solo. He'll sing "Ashita no kioku" as his solo...
S: During the same time as last year's (timing where we sang "Ashita no kioku") huh?
A: We'll need a lot of photos. Photos up till that day itself!?
N: Well, because we'll be approaching our thirties every year from now on. Not just Ohno-san, but each and every member...
O: I see, everyone should do it too! If, starting from me, I did something, everyone will continue doing it right?
M: Well... we'll may not do it.
S: It'll definitely be the first and the last time.
(Everyone bursts into laughter)

Then, will everyone take turns to give your enthusiasm for this tour and your message to your fans please?

S
: What could it be...enthusiasm.
N: Isn't it fresh? Firstly, it's fresh indeed.
S: What's the meaning of "it's fresh"?
N: As you can expect, because it comes alongside the original album released after 2 years and 4 months.
S: I see, I see.
N: As expected, I think of that a lot. And then, I'm looking forward to everyone's solo!
S: Whose in particular?
N: In particular... "Magical Song". (With the most striking expression for the day) "He~~~~~eeE!"
A: I don't drag it that long! That's long!

Your expression when saying that was too amazing...

N: If I don't put on that expression, I can't sing it! That's why I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of expression the actual singer will sing it with. You over there, will you sing that?
A: I'll sing it...
N: I'm a little looking forward to it.
S: That's right. To us, it's a long tour lasting about half a year, but most people will only be able to come once. I want to make that a non-substitutable time, with "you and I". It's like "Let's do it together!" (Laughs).

Er... Going by the seating position (of this round-table talk), next would be Ohno-san. But we won't be expecting much of Riida ('s comment) huh.

S: Oniisan7 is last.
(With that, everyone looked at Ohno... For some reason, he was in the midst of pouting and fidgeting)
N: Please do think about it a little, because you're the last!
A: Er, then, it's my turn huh. Really, I love getting excited with everyone and becoming one with everyone at that kind of places. Like it'll remain as memories for a lifetime right? It'll be great if it becomes like that everyday!
M: Indeed, there's only once. The rising of the sun, it only happens that once during that day. That's why, well... It's different from watching the TV, the footage may be similar to it but, for them to specially come and share in "that time", we'll also go to the venues and work seriously each time. Like, "What will we be able to do during that time?" and "In what way will we enjoy this?"... "What kind of "scenery" will we see?", I want to go on tour while enjoying these thoughts.
S: And then... Oniisan!
N: If you please.
O: Ahem (clears his throat). Well, firstly... You know. If the guests would look at me, and look at me while thinking "As I've thought, I don't want to become this kind of 30 years old" till the end...
S: Er... What are you intending to commit?
N: It's a concert.
S: They won't think such things. No one will. Everyone will definitely think "I want to become such an adult".
O: Right! That was what I wanted to say.
4 of them: Eh...! It's the exact opposite huh(Laughs).
S: You can't start from "don't want to become".
O: If they think, "There're this kind of adults around?"...
A: Everyone will be energised! Ok!
O: They will right? Like "These 5 persons are idiots, but they're amazing".
A: That's right. If our big bros said something, we'll also follow suit huh?
M: Because what our big bros say are absolutes.
S: If the big bros say so, right?
O: "If it is achievable for these people, wouldn't it be achievable for me too?"
N: Some kind of new thing huh!
O: Right, like starting on something new. I'll be happy if it became a concert that sparks off such things.
N: You said something good~!
O: Like, after going for Arashi's concert, something changed...
A: That's good, Misonii!8
S: Hahaha! "Misonii"...
M: As expected from... Misonii!
(Everyone mumbles unanimously "Misonii" and laughs)
N: That's right, for them to think, "I'll become like Misonii!"!
All: We want to make it a tour where people can feel the person they are right now.

1 This is the title of the album this tour is based on.

2 In Japanese, in the album title "僕の見ている風景"/"The Scenery We Are Looking At", the "we" refers to Arashi whereas in the tour title "君と僕の見ている風景"/"The Scenery You And I Are Looking At", the "you and I" refers to both Arashi and fans.

3 The Japanese often say "Please say a word in conclusion" but it does not literally mean ONE word. Like how Ohno always gets pinpointed to say a word in conclusion. XP

4 The Chonmage hairstyle was worn by man during the Edo period hairstyle.

5 In the 5x10 Anniversary tour, Arashi showed photos of themselves from young till adult during the performance of this song.

6 "Ashita no kioku", the original title, means "Tomorrow's memories". "Satoshi no kioku", a pun on the title, means "Satoshi's memories".

7 "Oniisan" is Japanese for "elder brother".

8 "Misonii" is a combination of "Miso"/"30" and "nii"/"elder brother".

I've just made a booking.

Had wanted to book the Tokyo Dome Hotel, but it was full.

Proceeded to check for other hotels, and found a few nearby ones. In the end I narrowed down to two hotels.

One was only 200m from the Dome, the other...perhaps 500m away.
The nearer one was cheaper by about $70.
The further one had more reviews and more pictures.

So...I decided on the further one.

First time booking a hotel by myself!

Arashi makes me learn things!

[EDIT] 11/9/2010: After adding the Group part, the post became too long to be posted, so I've created a separate post here for the Group and Q&A parts!

I can't stop you from doing it but if you choose to go down that path, I wish you luck in rebelling against all established rules of the Arashi fandom - in which you won't last long. =)

OHNO SATOSHI
The overall theme is “Changes without changes”.
Although Arashi always doesn’t change, but experiences, confidence, such things are changing.
I think it’ll be great if the 5 of us could express that.

When I heard about the tour, I thought, “We can do it again this year!” Furthermore, hasn’t it been more than 2 years since we last went on tour with an original album? That means that I’ll be able to do it with fresh feelings once again. Last year was the 10th anniversary tour and I was happy to receive many congratulatory wishes from everyone but… Because that period was really busy, I didn’t have the luxury to feel various things in terms of feelings… That’s why, to be able to finish the drama without hiccups and to move towards the concert properly, I’m also really looking forward to it myself. (Looking at the estimated number of people mobilised in this tour) 860,000 people? It’s amazing huh? I can’t imagine… (Laughs). Honestly, it’s unbelievable. Are there this many people coming to watch Arashi? Even now, it is still unbelievable. It doesn’t change even after entering the 11th year (Laughs). With only the surroundings changing gradually, although Arashi itself isn’t changing, why, why do this many people come? I’m really shocked. Because it’s an amazing scenery. Such as the Kokuritsu Stadium filled with guests… Although the concert itself is always enjoyable, Kokuritsu is indeed difficult. I can’t get used to it… Regarding how I should communicate with that number of guests, I can’t get used to it at all. Surprisingly, it's visible. Although the guests’ faces are more visible than I thought, I don’t get where I should respond to. Aren’t there parts where the five of us split up to where the guests are? And don’t I end up being alone? And when I have to interact with this place (the area before myself) all by myself, I sing like this (Waving his hands widely) right? When I do this, everyone will wave their hands in the same way. I’ll think, “Eh, there’s only me!?” and turn to look back. But as expected, I’m alone (Laughs). That is unbelievable. They waved to me? I’m really happy and will think keenly, “Everyone’s waving to me.” (Laughs). I’ll be able to see that scenery again this year. Really... I want to burn it into my memory. I have to burn it into my memory properly.

It’s also been 2 years since the last album so I missed the recording sessions. As last year’s was a best of album, there wasn’t any recording. It was enjoyable to sing 1 song, remember the next, and sing… (Laughs). I often talked to Aiba-chan. Such as “Where have you recorded up to?” It’s also been a while since we had such conversations. Aren’t the new songs fresh? There are a lot of songs that can only be done for an album. In the end, this time it feels mature and the melodies somehow… feel like they can be danced to with style. They are fresh. For the solo, because I intended to dance to it during the concert, I want to make the song have that feeling too. Although I had that plan, it’s a bit similar to “Take me faraway” huh? Actually, although I had the image of a song that can be danced with more might, it became a feeling of calmness instead. That melody feels slow but I'm intending to dance just as it is. As of now, the plan is for me to think of the choreography by myself.

This time, the overall theme is “Changes without changes”. I thought that that was really fitting. Although Arashi always doesn’t change, but as expected, isn’t it changing? Like experiences, confidence, such things are changing. This means that it’s changing indeed. That’s why I think it’ll be great if the 5 of us could express these “changes without changes”.  It’ll be great if it becomes a tour where people can feel such things. Like, after watching the concert, to think, “Somehow… Although those people haven’t changed, it was fresh.” (Laughs) With that, I’m looking forward to forming communication with the guests again this time. Although I always say this, it’s really a “festival” to me. It feels like concerts are festival merrymaking! (Laughs) It’s not something you watch carefully but something where everyone make merry and enjoy. I think it’s a festival that’s created by everyone and a “The season of festivals is here!” thing (Laughs). Let’s enjoy it this year too ok!!

SAKURAI SHO
We passed last year's 10th anniversary,
the feeling that another 1 has started again to head towards the next 10.
It's a start line where every, both us and the guests, is together
so I want to see the same scenery together with everyone.

This year, we embark on a 4 day concert at the Kokuritsu stadium, something no one has done up till now… I first felt astonished. To begin with, there was the astonishment that we were allowed to hold it for 4 days!? And then, with respect to the continuous 3 years there, that is precisely because we had managed to build trust with our second time there last year since the time of that “very first step”. Although I don’t know if it’s the notion of “at the Kokuritsu stadium”… There was the joy of being acknowledged (as being suitable). Because we won’t be able to do it if we didn't have actual results. Meaning, it’s indeed all thanks to the guests1. Really, everyone, you know. If they hadn’t come last year and the year before that, there won’t be this year’s. But conversely, if they don’t come this year, there’s won’t be a next year (Laughs). It really depends on them! It feels like "Please, I humbly ask of you to gather again this year." (Laughs)2.

Regarding the new album, I haven't listened to it throughout so I don't know... Or perhaps I should say, it's always like that - in a good way, there's no consistency. Above all, firstly, the number of singles included in the album is large and there are bits of pieces of disconnected tastes establishing a distinguishing character. And the album songs, including the solos, should I say that they fill up the "spaces"? That doesn't mean that they are insignificant. They play the role of adding variety. I thought that it would be great if it became such an album. And then, we also sang songs that we weren't able to sing up till now. The approach of the lyrics is slightly different from what we had up till now… There’s such a difference. Does that have to do with our age, the time we spent as a group for 10, 11 years, or both? I don’t know… Maybe there’s an increase in “the things that the Arashi of today can sing”.

I was quite hesitant towards to the solo this time. There was a song among the demos that I felt I really liked. The moment the intro played, even I myself thought, “This sounds very me!” (Laughs) It’s just that we had set forth the premise that the theme for this album is for it to be slightly different from those from before. So, I thought that if I did that song, it’ll have the usual feel… So, I tried to go away a little instead.

It’s been 2 years since we last had an original album. As expected, we punched in a “full stop” with last year’s “5x10”… That wasn’t just a tour. Various members of the media did special feature reports for us and with the end of that grand 10th anniversary, I strongly think of it as a “restart”. That's why, rather than with a tension of "It's been a while!", I'm going with the feeling that from here, another 1 has started again to head towards the next 10. I'm moving on to talk about raps. The song called "movin' on", it originally didn't have a rap. But after hearing the song part, I asked if it's alright for me to write a bit and was allowed to do so. "I want to project the Arashi of today," I thought. The song itself was the usual "Let's go forward" kind of song, but within the rap, you can hear that it seems to be singing about Arashi, or you can also hear otherwise. I wrote the lyric that way. I managed to write it by treating the 10 years worth of time as something of the past, as a single unity. With that, I feel that "1" is really starting from here. Becaus unlike last year's tour which pursued "each and every Arashi image" and "each and every 10 years", it's a tour beginning from the start line where everyone, both us and the guests, is together. A scenery different from last year's... That's the scenery that we'll see. And the scenery seen by the guests from the audience stands will definitely be different. Indeed, each and every year, the scenery of the tour will become memories of that year. Like, 2009 is that of the 10th anniversary and 2008 is the the first Kokuritsu with "Arashi Around Asia 2008". Because that year's scenery will be burnt into memory. That's why, just like in the title, let's look at the same scenery! I want to see the same scenery together with everyone.

1 I used guests here because I feel that the audience at the concerts are like guests to a party. However, as shokim pointed out, a more ‘English’ translation would be ‘audience’.
2 Sho made this request in the highest level of politeness.

AIBA MASAKI
For that many people to do a single thing together
It's by no means something that can be easily done, right?
It's enjoyable just being in the midst of that.
I really love concerts very much.

Indeed, before we go on to anything else, isn't it amazing that we're able to hold a tour this year as well? I'm really grateful and, as you would expect, happy to be allowed to do it again at the same venues as last year. As for last year, other than people who always came to our tours, I think there wwas also a considerable number of people who came with the thought "Since it's the 10th anniversary, maybe I'll just... go watch Arashi's concert a little". That's why I would feel very grateful thinking, "I was able to perform before that many guests." As for tours, I do them with fresh feelings each time. Although it's a long tour, there are empty intervals between each performance so it feels fresh each time. It's like "After doing some other jobs, I'll be able to return to the tour again!" That's why it's fresh each and every time. And there are also "amusing memories" that are quite...me (Laughs). Like forgetting my own solo... Anyway, this means that it (the solo) was that fresh! That's why, as this tour will again last for a long period, I want to enjoy each and every concert with fresh feelings. As expected, to begin with, I like "those places" where everyone gathers. For that many people to gather and do a single thing together... It's by no means something that can be easily done, right? It's enjoyable just being in the midst of that. I really love concerts very much.

With the best of album last year, people saw the "very major" 1 things that Arashi has been doing up till now. This is the first original album released following that and furthermore, it's been 2 years since the last one. Maybe I'm feeling that too much... But this album is a little different from singles, as one would expect. It has an "assaulting" feeling. I feel that there are many songs with melodies that definitely can't be released as singles (Laughs). But because the singles starting from "Everything" are also included inside, there are pop parts where we can do at ease. I think this is a piece of work that will allow people to feel "the Arashi in their 11th year".

As for my solo, well... Within myself, I do feel that maybe I've overdone it a bit (Laughs). It's something like Trance or Eurobeat? It's more like "disco" and "center-stage" rather than "clubbing". English phrases such as "sensation" were also used... It's a song that hasn't been heard recently, one that feels a little like it's bursting out (Laughs). Whether they think of it (the song style) as new or old... Although it'll differ from person to person, I think it's really new! Precisely because it's to be done now, I want to do this song! I probably had feelings such as "Let me try challenge myself to that extent!" within me when I decided on the solo (Laughs). In any case, I can't explain it well but... It's a song that has quite a bit of vigour. I enjoyed myself a lot while singing and will be glad if everyone also develop feelings like "Ah~ It was enjoyable!" after listening. I will dance to the song at the concert! Or rather... I'll make merry2 (Laughs). I hope everyone won't leave me making merry by myself. Because I'm thinking of having everying sing and dance together to the solo this time round too. So please think of it as helping me and make merry together! Yoroshiku (Laughs).

Really, we're really blessed by the mere fact that we've been able to hold a tour every year... I'm grateful. And then, indeed, it's probably just once a year that everyone gathers at one same place and get excited along with the same members, right? (Each year) The guests are all different, and the atmosphere also changes depending on the venue. That's why I'll make merry with each valuable round (Laughs)! That includes the solo right? I'll make merry with the concert itself. While being chastened by various people for "horsing around too much!" (Laughs). Having experienced last year's 10th anniversary, it'll be great if the "us" today is able to show the "New Arashi" 3 of the 11th year. That's exactly why... There's this "Full throttle!" feeling (Laughs). I want to make it an enjoyable tour this year too!

1 Aiba used the word "Do Major" here, in the same way as Jun's "Do S". I translated it quite literally, but it means something Arashi mainly does.
2 The word Aiba used can mean 'make merry', 'horse around' etc etc. I've used both translations depending on the sentence context. It basically means to get carried away by the moment and make merry/have fun. without cares).
3 Aiba used the words "Atarashii Arashi". "Atarashi Arashi" is the title of their 02-03 Winter concert, so maybe he was trying to make some reference? Lol. Or maybe I'm thinking too much.

NINOMIYA KAZUNARI
We showed what we had to show and are also doing things we want to do...
I feel that the tour that's conveying this album is a "famous-album tour"!
I’m really looking forward to everyone’s reactions when the songs come on.

When I heard of the details of this year’s tour (Third consecutive year (at Kokuritsu), starting with 4 days of performances Kokuritsu this time round), I thought, “Arashi-san is amazing!” I can’t think of anything other than that it’s really amazing… But more than such things, the fact that we’re able to hold concerts every year is by itself a simple joy. It’s such happiness. I really think so. Because concerts are things that are different every year. There’s no such thing as “Last year’s 10th anniversary tour was special” or  “We’re going back to normal tours”. That’s why, without change, there’s the feeling of “I’ll work hard!” this year too.

With a tour based on an original album, the first question is, what kind of album will it become? Is it ok for me to tell? …I think it’ll become a masterpiece (Laughs)! Since the stage where we added the songs, I've felt "it's as expected". There’s a “new” feeling and it’ll probably become a album that's danceable to. I think it’s an album with an extremely good balance. We showed what we had to show and in exchange, we're also doing things we want to do... From the perspective of the singer, I think it's an album that does not bring stress. That's why I feel that the tour that's conveying this album is a "famous-album tour"! I'm really looking forward to it.

By the way, I’m writing the lyrics to/composing the song to/arranging my solo. It’s a song I made on my (27th) birthday. The moment 16 (June) changed to 17. In the midst of having everyone send me mails saying “Happy Birthday”, I made it while humming and replying to those mails (Laughs). As to the title, I think everyone must have thought of various things. But, since they're reading this pamphlet, I think they're already listening. So instead of me talking about this or that, it'll be great if they could listen and each feel it themselves... I won't say (Laughs). Well, isn't the 27 years and about 30 minutes old me being expressed (in the song) (Laughs)? Actually, the song itself was done within that amount of time. Really, about 30 minutes. But the way of composition was totally different from what I always had so it was tough as you would expect. I did all of it, by myself. I mean, I rewrote it 7 times. Piano, Cajón1, Saxophone… I added various instruments and also a chorus2. I was present at all the recording sessions and was also allowed to give directions. For the piano, I asked for the help of a pianist I like very much. I thought it’ll be great to have someone I like do it for me. The recording sessions were really enjoyable. They became a great piece of memory. Actually, I wanted to play the piano at the concert. But… I gave it up this time. It was like "Shall I just dance?" (Laughs). Well, I don't dance much. Although I don't… I thought that a solo where I just sing would be boring so… I’ll dance! For the order of the solos, mine's probably 1st or 2nd... My appearance (solo) will likely be ending before the MC (Laughs). That's all my projection so please look forward to the final conclusion on the concert day itself!

Indeed, because this tour is based on a new original album, I’m really looking forward to everyone’s reactions when the songs come on. Like it or not, for singles, “results = reaction” will appear through the sales figure so we’ll know some way or another. But for albums, the result will not appear through the price for each song3 so… If we don’t hold concerts, we won’t know which are the songs that everyone likes and which are the ones they don’t quite like. I’m really looking forward to everyone’s reactions when the songs come on. As for the kind of concert it’ll become, we’re in the midst of preparing it... This time round, the General (Matsumoto) has joined a TV drama. He's unable to join in the exchange of ideas as often as before. Saying this means that there's an image that it's "different". But well… Anyway, we’ve never been a group that is on the defensive side. With respect to concerts, we’re a group that has been continuously taking the offensive. We’re thinking of attacking a little this year too. And also, as a “message to fans”, I hope they will send loud cheering when my solo comes on. Yup… I want them to say “Kya~” then even if it’s against their will so, yoroshiku ne (Laughs)!

1 The cajón is a type of drum, and considered to have originated from PERU! Read more about it on wiki.
2 Nino used the Japanese word Chorus. In this context, it refers to the back vocalists.
3 I think Nino refers to the price attached to each song on download sites.
4 Once again, I used 'guests' in place of 'audience', a more proper English word for concert attendees.

MATSUMOTO JUN
While I myself confirm that "The person I am now is like this",
Those who came to watch will also think,
"Arashi's like this recently."
Wouldn't it become such a concert?

I'm really happy to that we're able to hold a tour again this year. But to be honest, there's also....a feeling of disappointment that, once more, we can only go some places. Now, when the group called Arashi holds concerts, there are things that we "can do and cannot do" in areas contrary to what we want, including time-related problems and various situations. The desire to visit many venues has not changed this year either and to us, performing at large venues isn't our goal. We've discussed a lot about the things we can do within this and the best result that came out of it takes the form of this round's tour. Because, in the end, the fact that there are many people who came for us from afar doesn't change regardless of the venue. In any case, it's a feeling of wanting to make the tour an enjoyable one this year too.

Fo an original album, it has been about 2 years since the last release. I think what's clearly different from the previous time when we released "Dream "A" Live" is that this is the first album created after our 10th anniversary last year and the release of the 10th Anniversary best of album "All The Best! 1999-2009". That's why, we were extremely conscious of that fact when we created the album. I think it'll be extremely simple for us to do again this time round the type of songs similar to what we've been singing in albums up till now. But we felt that it's probably not the time for that and thought of confronting ourselves as we are now... When it became such a project, what came to sight was the theme "Changes without changes". The selves who have not changed from who we were up till now despite having passed the 10th anniversary. The selves who are trying not to change. But having said that, with the passing of days and time, won't people get influenced by some things and show some changes? Within that part, what will change and what is comfortable for ourselves as we are now? That, and the topic of the kind of Arashi that people who came to watch and people who give us support would like to see, came to us while we were in the midst of discussions. So, how should we handle that? Indeed, it'll be boring if we did it in the usual way. If we're going to do it in a fresh way, we can only "take the offensive", so this time's album "The scenery we're looking at" is the piece of work that we newly challenged. With that meaning, I think each of our solos are also challenging new grounds. My solo? How should I express that sound...? Perhaps it feels a little bit like a shooting game (Laughs)? Somehow, I had originally wanted to do Hip Hop. Among the few songs that finally remained, it's the song I wanted to do most, the one I felt good listening to. There's a rap section and a Hip Hop feel. The rhythm is like that and because it also uses effects, it's like, which is my real voice (Laughs)? But the chorus1 and such are almost all recordings of my own voice so it took a really long time for the recording session. It feels a bit like Ambient Techno2 so.... I'll dance at the concert? Although I'll dance... How should I put it? It feels a bit odd. I'm thinking of doing (a performance) with an "alternate dimension" feel.

It's just that this time, I didn't turn up much for rehearsals (because of my dorama). Although everyone worked on the detailed starting points together at the beginning stage, for things like the set, to some extent I didn't thought of interfering (Laughs). Because I'll be bothered if a person who's not often present interfered...(Laughs) I think that means it's "changing"? Also, I think the "colours" of the other 4 persons will definitely appear. So, within that meaning, I'm looking forward to it extremely. Because I think this year exists by building on what we've done up till now. While I myself confirm that "The person I am now is like this", I think it'll become a concert which allows those who came to watch to think, "Ah... Arashi's like this recently." (Laughs) Anyway, I want to enjoy it. Personally, I think I'll be in love with the people in the audience stands this time, each and every round (of concerts)! I think I'll decide on one such "This person!" at each and every venue (Laughs). It might be you. So I hope that everyone of you won't be unprepared (Laughs). WIth that, I'll look forward to meeting at the venues!

1 Jun used the Japanese word Chorus. In this context, it refers to the back vocalists.
2 Jun said Ambient, but on googling, Ambient music is quite slow, so I think he meant Ambient Techno, a sub-genre. You can read more about Ambient music at
wiki, and listen to some examples here and here (some are pretty good if you listen to the whole thing! Especially the first, I can imagine lyrics with Arashi's voices)

So, the big 'secret' is out.

As per Suppin Arashi con 2002,

Aiba: orange (Nagoya)
Jun: pink (Tokyo)
Nino: green (Fukuoka)
Sho: yellow (Sapporo)
Ohno: blue (Osaka)

Mine is gold. So that stands for Arashi? Now and forever golden, everlasting element. Precious, stability in times of crisis.

I've never thought about collecting them all, but now that there's such a deeper layer of meaning to it (returning back to where they were, 10 years ago, at the start), I'm tempted.

We should have known. Why would JE make the charm pink when they could have easily made it red? Oh well..
