You know how crazy I was for You're Beautiful. I'm currently watching another drama written by the Hong Sisters, who were behind that manaic kdrama. It's named "내 여자친구는 구미호" (My Girlfriend is a 9-tailed fox). And I have to say that although I don't feel the crazy fangirl emotions I felt for YB, I thoroughly enjoyed the drama. If the next 3 episodes are at least as good as the previous 13 were, I'll definitely put it above YB. Because, while it was not as silly fun as YB, it did not drag and feel too angsty like YB did it its later episodes. I feel that the Hong Sisters had improved in their writing, and the angst is always resolved in a light manner that remains true to the spirit of the drama. And without giving an awkward, contrived feeling. It's rare, I tell you.

Here's a scene from ep 11 that's going into my list of memorable quotes.

The best confession scene ever )

XP I just got home from Korean class! Today we learnt yet another speech level - the informal polite form. So far we've learnt the honorific form and the formal polite form. =S I think there's another level below informal polite form since there must be an 'impolite' form in order for there to be a polite form. Just as I thought Japanese was bad enough with all the plain, polite, honorific, humble forms...things got worse!! I'm so confused and I bet I'll need to spend the next few days trying to figure things out.

Despite all the confusion in class, I was quite happy during class.

(1) I scored 19.5/20 for last week's Verbs quiz! The one dumb mistake wasn't really a mistake because I just forgot to draw a horizontal stroke to the vertical one so the word turned out wrong. =X Careless careless...

(2) I scored full marks for last week's Adjective quiz!! YATTA! =)

(3) I scored A for my essay and had only two mistakes. Wuahahaha So happy! My effort didn't go to waste. Now I'll just have to try memorise the whole thing =/

Yes, I know I sound like a hopeless primary school student showing off her grades. Just let me be hahah! It's not often I score this well! How I hope it'll be the same for my official Listening and Oral tests (these quizes are only components of the "Class Participation" marks) and the FINALS!!!

(4) The teacher read out my answer for last week's hw. We were asked to describe two friends and somehow, I forgot to write my name on the hw...aniwaes, yeah I was quite shocked when I heard her saying "이 친구는 준입니다." which means "This friend is Jun."

Well, we had to write about two friends. I wrote about one but couldn't think of someone to write about for the second (yes, it's that sad) so I decided to write about Jun.

Here's what I wrote:

이 진구는 준입니다. This friend is Jun.
준은 일본 사람이고 제 대학교에 다닙니다. Jun is a Japanese and attends my university.
똑똑하고 멋있습니다. [He is] smarts and handsome.
우리는 만화 영화를 좋아하고 주말에 봅니다. We like anime and watch them during weekends.
그리고 준이는 키가 큽니다. Also, Jun is tall. (Ok, I was totally lying here but I had to so I could write the following)
매일 농구를 합니다. [He] plays basketball everyday.

It's really short and simple but I'm just happy the teacher read about Jun to the class. LOL...

I was going to get the June WU, provided there're still some left at Kino. However, as I was at the train station on my way home, I saw people collecting donations for the 四川缅甸 earthquake/cyclone so I dropped Arashi's Full of Love into the box.

Come to think of it, I 'gave' Arashi's love to those hit by the disasters ne. I'll try to work my budget & get the mag! <3

YAY so happy! I learnt how to write my name in Korean today. =S

I'm going to die very soon. Taking Korean during Special Term isn't as easy as I thought. Well, within the 10 classes to be held in the next month, I have to pick up the language and be able to at least speak simple sentences, read words and listen. O.O Each class lasts 4 hours. I'm dying already, after 2 classes. Just had listenig test today and will have a vocab test next class. We finished learning how to read all the different Korean characters, although the meanings still escape me. I need to get them by next class. *faints*

Throughout the class, I was having problems trying to differentiate Japanese and Korean. Like my brain will automotically drift towards Japanese when I see some words..Like

가방 kabang V  かばん kaban

차 cha V 茶 cha

가족 kajok V 家族 kazoku

Oh, and notice the character fu written in Katakana?

フ resembles the left side of the character 가 ne? O.O

=S During the first class, I went to say "はい hai" to the teacher when she asked me something. =.=

I'm going crazy!! Korean characters are easier then Japanese ones in the sense that they are simple and easy to write, consisting of straight strokes and just one circle. That's a lot easier to write than Japanese characters. But they are also harder than Japanese characters in that because they're so simlar, it's hard to remember how to pronounce each. See the following:

아 야 어 여 오 요 우 유 으 이

바 파 빠

자 차 짜

애 얘 에 예

와 왜 외 워 웨 위 의

Don't you think they look all the same? O.O I don't know how I'm going to pass oral...it'll take me like ages to figure out the pronounciation! Plus, a good number of them sound sooooo similar.

Like 자 차 짜. ca, cha, zza. 바 파 빠. ba, pa, bba. @.@ I'm dying just to pronounce them correctly!

During the break just now, I went to have a cultural exchange with my friend Sam. She's taking Japanese for Special Term and she was complaining that quite a few people in her class obviously took classes before because they got everything right very quickly. Oh well, it happens. Just have to work harder to catch up I guess.

She was saying that it took her 2 hours just to decipher the questions (as in write down how they sound in Japanese by converting the hiragana to romanji) and for some of them, she doesn't even know what they're asking! For eg, せんせいはにほんじんですか。 She was like, "What teacher? Who's a teacher? I'm not a teacher..so I wrote 'Ie'!!" She's planning to S/U but since it's only the first week (Her classes is 4 times a week, 2 hours each time), I think she'll get the hang of reading quick. Muahahah I was scaring her that Katakana is harder in a way than Hiragana. =/ I've forgotten some of them already! T.T Haven't got time to arrange for classes with my teacher...I haven't touched Jap since last November! I think I'm gonna die when I resume lessons and so I want to revise before I start. But now, with Korean breathing down my neck, I can't find time. Besides, I'm very sure I'll mix them up all together.

I was thinking of taking Jap level 2 during next sem but I don't know..since I've started on Korean, I may just continue...will see how, by the end of this course. It'll be weird to just take the  very basics and stop there. It's like neither here nor there! But if I continue with Korean, I'll worry more for my elective's grade and...I won't have as much time for Japanese anymore, which is painful. =(

Will see how.

OHNO you boy!! Dorama??????? JULY???? YES! Before school gets busy please. I so do want to watch you acting. For the first time yay!!! Aiba-chan when is your turn??
