Hanakimi needs slightly better casting for a few minor characters

I was just flipping through TVGuide 6/30 - 7/6 when I came across the character analysis page for HanaKimi...well, like most of you, I've only been paying attention to Shun, Toma and Maki. But this time, I took a closer look at all the characters. And I got pissed off. Look at it:



Look at the guy playing Minami (難波南) I was soooo devastated! Compare him to the tw version, played by Danson Tang Yu Zhe (my love in HuaYang):

 I simply couldn't imagine that guy on the left as Minami. A playboy? Looking like this???

So I went to research a bit on that guy, Mizushima Hiro, and felt better. Maybe it was just in this shot. =X He looked okay in his official site, and in his wiki page. Hopefully, he has got acting chops to pull it off!! But I still prefer my Danson. =)

Oh! And while researching, I came across his profile. And it said that he was in Gokusen 2005. O.O I don't remember him!!! Anyone can point him out to me???

And then I went to find his article in Duet, as stated in his official page. And I found some shoots...here are two better one:

Please look at the guy at the bottom right acting as Nakao Senri (中央千里). How the hell can he pass off as a 'campus idol' as the character is supposed to be in the manga??! He doesn't look like one who can win the hearts of his fellow male schoolmates! O.o Anyone would prefer Ashiya Mizuki (芦屋瑞希 by Maki) over him, right??? T.T Like above, hopefully he can act to save the role. Maybe he can make up for the lack of beauty with good acting?

He's Kimura Ryo, by the way. And from his wiki page, he looks better. And it was mentioned that he was in Nodame Cantabile!! EH!???? Again I can't recall!!! Where?? Who??? (I went to check abit, and it said he was the violinist/new conductor??? O.O I THINK it does look like him..but..very vague...And if it IS him, I think he can make it as Senri)

 

Argh...they could have got prettier guys ne. There are just SO MANY! LOL I'd love to see our hime acting as Senri. It'll be a challenge and a great laugh! heh. ANd he definitely can pull it off.

I'm not gonna care about the other characters, because they didn't make much impression on me in the tw version. =X But quite a few good-lookers!

Aniwaes, have you listened to Be With You?? Does anyone find that the voice at the start doesn't quite sound like anyone from the group? Ok, maybe just a tad like riida. Just a little bit. And I confirmed it by elimination - It's definitely neither Sho nor Jun nor Aiba. And since Nino sang the next part, it should be riida ne..well, when that part nears the end, it does sound like Riida though. hmmm I wonder if Riida's voice is changing! lol second stage of puberty!!!

And I was reading through the lyrics for Love Situation, and halfway I started laughing. Because I NEVER heard the phrase "Love Situation" in the song. To think that I've listened to it soooo many times because of Jun's chikazukitai!! And the thing is, it was always Jun singing the phrase "Love Situation". XD And I never noticed the presence of this phrase till I saw the lyrics!!

hello?? have you ever seen the cm? or ever read the hana kimi threads over at d-addicts? no one i repeat, NO ONE, has ever insulted hiro the way you did.all the hana kimi fans who have seen his picture went fangirling and think he's the best nanba-sempai.i mean, you must be blind not to appreciate his looks. saying he looks "okay" is a big understatement. by italicizing that single word, you even stressed it. god please!

i have my own opinion of danson -whatever his name is- but i won't go ranting simply because i don't want to be like you and that first commenter and contradict my own actions.

as for kimura ryo, same defense just like with mizushima hiro. i won't even go to details defending him but ryo is a damn good looking guy and definitely does NOT lack beauty. he played his part well as senri nakao and he damn well made it.

WTF? hana kimi's cast is prettier than any i've ever seen. definitely "ikemen paradise" if they didn't have such a beautiful cast, how do you explain all those fangirls? don't even tell me it's only because of toma and shun because that is certainly not the case.

While I do respect your views and your personal opinion, please do respect mine too, as well as my personal space up here in the net. I understand that this post, being public, is up for the scrutiny of anyone with a net connection. But I think, like you, I have the right to say whatever I feel. It may not be true, it may be obviously biased, but I believe the ones reading have enough sense to make their own judgement on that matter - whether they're with me or on the other side.
Yes, I have seen the CM. But it was so fast, I couldn't catch most of them properly. And, since I've never heard of the other guys making up the cast, I wouldn't be keeping an eye out for them, would I? No, I've not read the threads at d-addicts. I don't download. Therefore, I don't visit the site.
No One has ever insulted Hiro the way I did? Ok. But 'no-one has' doesn't mean I can't, right? And obviously I am one (of the) hana kimi fans who is not fangirling over his picture. Like what I've said, I've not seen the actual dorama yet. It's out already, I know, but I haven't caught it.So I shall still stand by my opinion (as of then), that I am not impressed with Hiro playing Nanba. Whether I would still stand by that after watching is to be seen.
And I don't particularly like being called "BLIND" because I don't "Appreciate his looks". Sorry, but I've never called anyone blind because they don't find Matsujun/Sho/Aiba/Nino/Ohno handsome. I don't, because everyone has got different tastes. So what if you think he's the most handsome dude on earth? I don't, because he's not my type. Does that make me blind? I can see the fangirl in you defending your favourite artiste, but please refrain from making personal attacks simply because I don't appreciate your idol the way you do. And to me, he does look okay in that picture. I shall italicize it once more, because I'm still looking at that same picture, I still think that he looks just okay. Like what I said, I may change my view when I've seen him in action. But as of now, it's still the same.
Aniwaes, it's fine if you have your own views about Danson. (Danson Tang Yu Zhe, for your info) You're entitled to it and you can flame him or whatever in your personal space. I may be upset, but that's all I'll get. I can't go up to you and say, "STOP that! He's like the best XXXXX." I'm fine if you're making an objective argument here, but all I can feel is fiery and personal attacks. Did you think that that would make me think otherwise of the two? I will only do so when I see their acting chops.
Aniwaes, yes, I'm going to say it. "It's mainly because of Toma and Shun." Maybe you would call me a mountain tortoise, but the fact remains that I've only got time for Arashi and people kind of related to them in some way or another. And so, my universe spins around them. To me, the community I am in is more for Shun and Toma (and perhaps Maki) when they watch HanaKimi. So far, I've never heard of anyone discussing about the rest of the cast yet. They might, when they've watched the dorama and caught someone/something else which interests them. But not at this moment. Well, I'm only a part-time fangirl. I have my other reality to live in. I can't be expected to go research on every single person in every single dorama I watch, and to visit all the communities to check up what's what. It's the same like how you're community is fangirling over Hiro.
In short, I still stand by my post. Plus, one last thing. Stand Up had got a pretty cast, too.

sorry to butt in but it just so happened i appreciate the senri nakao of japanese version... in case you have not watched it, don't worry he can act, though not too girly but girlish in a way... i believe he did okay...
and he may not be handsome or photogenic in that case, i believe that he is cute and somehow has charms in his own way...

i don't intend to start a fight... but it just so happens i'm a fan of this guy/gay?!?!?!... so hope you won't mind me expressing my opinion... Peace!

lol don't worry.XP I watched it and hmmm it's not bad. =D Ikemen Paradise? haha. Aniwaes I was pissed off with the top comment because of how it was phrased. It was like a challenge to my right to free expression of opinion and so I sounded really mean up there. But yes, I noe that everyone has different opinions about the same issue and it depends on our own personalities and experiences. My post was made prior to watching the jdorama and AFTER having the experience of watching it, my opinion changed. =D I quite like it, although I was still staring more at Toma and Hiro and that spiritual guy during the show. (Note, I didn't like Hiro prior to watching! *see post*) As for Senri, not bad either. XPPP Quite funny to watch!
As I always say, still shoots don't usually do justice to a person, and in this case, the actors proved that right!

haha, i hope i did not offend you in any way and in any part of my comment...
... and now thinking about it, i somehow understand you... actually for the first few episodes, i never liked that gay in the series and instead, i also go for that nakatsu and psychic/aura guy... but as the episodes go by, it just so happened that he stood out and now i'm the weirdo among my friends for for i am interested with a gay character... hahahaha...
