I know I'm addicted when, in spite of me starting on a tough engagement and ending work way past midnight for it, I'm
watching every new episode released and signing up to translate (have translated one ep)
Palace 宫锁心玉.
It's a Mainland drama that airs 2 episodes a day. O.o Given that I don't really like Mainland dramas (have only watched 书剑恩仇录, 还珠格格 and 神鵰俠侶), I was quite surprised by my level of addiction to this.
The overarching plot is that a modern day heroine time travels back to the Qing Dynasty (the Kangxi reign) and forms relationships with the people from the past. Main romance involves the heroine and two other princes, one of which is the 4th Prince (the future Emperor Yong Zheng). The plot is fun with a lot of modern elements, not too politics-heavy like many mainland dramas are. Plus, the leads look good, waaaay better than those stills in the websites. And the Chinese accent isn't that bad.
So, go watch it! It's something like a trendy fusion drama...a mix of court lady battles, hanadan-ish romance (with a DoS, ore-sama, rich bratty prince + witty, tough heroine) and politics.
Very entertaining. If you don't understand Chinese, put this on hold and wait for subs! ^_^
