Arashi's Ninomiya Kazunari appeared on the radio program "BAYSTORM" on 13 December. An inside story in relation to the VS Arashi episode broadcasted on the 19th of last month was disclosed.
On the VS Arashi episode where their junior group Sexy Zone participated as the guest team, Ninomiya appeared wearing a black top and beige berms. The top had the words "TAPIOCA" and the berms had many black pom poms attached to it to resemble tapioca pearls and this became a hot topic amongst fans after the broadcast. There were many letters from listeners as well and Ninomiya said, "The stylist said, 'Those are tapioca!' and I went, 'Ah...is that so?' Initially I wondered why they attached so many black soot."
It wasn't just Ninomiya. He was also told by the VS Arashi staff that those are black soot from My Neighbour Totoro. "They are all uncles and tell each other that those are black soot being attached. From a certain age, it suddenly became black soot."
Ninomiya continued, "It's amazing, that everyone saw it those as tapioca." Laughing sheepishly, he said, "(Bubble tea) had such a boom, but it got disregarded. The person who made them didn't want them to be thought of as black soot..One's age shows just with black soot and tapioca. I understood that that was the line dividing the ages."
